Ingredients for making a slushie with Kool-Aid
Lime flavored Kool-Aid drink mix
Ice
Sugar (or splenda sweeteners)
Water
How to make a Kool-Aid Slushie
1. Add the cups of ice, Lime Kool Aid mix, water and sugar to a good blender (we use a Ninja blender) or food processor and blend about 30 seconds on high speed until the ice is completely shaved. Adjust and blend until you get the slushie consistency that you want.
2. Pour the drink into glasses; makes about 4 kid-sized servings.
Of course, you can change this recipe for homemade slushies up just by changing the Kool-Aid flavor. I know some people like to add club soda, but I say keep it simple and maybe try some type of carbonation if you are looking for a fun way to up your smoothie game.

Kool Aid Brings Back Childhood Memories
I feel like Kool-Aid is just part of childhood, right? I remember always having it in as a special treat in the house when I was a kid and I remember those awesome Kool-Aid commercials. Isn’t Kool Aid just the perfect cool down drink?
Back then, it was totally common for kids to run around with Kool-Aid mustaches – I guess you could say I grew up on Kool Aid!
I don’t think it’s nearly as popular now as it was then – my kids have enjoyed it from time to time – but when I was a kid, we always had Kool-Aid on hand.

So next time you see Kool Aid packets on sale in the drink isle, you might think twice about these inexpensive packets as fun summertime treats. I know that I personally was so hesitant about buying Kool Aid when my kids were young. It’s definitely not something we had often, but I do think it’s one of those fun summertime treats that kids will remember as part of their childhood.
I personally know that for some reason, Kool-Aid tropical punch flavor takes me right back to memories from my old childhood and neighborhood friends. We all sported those red upper stained lips as we raced around on our banana seat bikes. Gosh those were the good old days!

Lime was my all time favorite of all Kool-Aid flavors, and I can no longer find it. I couldn’t even find any kind of reference to it online until tonight. I happened to find a list of old Kool-Aid flavors where it was listed, and now this recipe that calls for it as an ingredient. Is Lime flavored Kool-Aid still available, if so, then where?????
