Easy Homemade Kool-Aid Lip Balm
Here is a fun and super affordable DIY project that kids will love! This easy homemade Kool-Aid Lip Balm is so perfect and works great for parties, gifts or even a fun rainy day activity.
Easy Homemade Kool-Aid Lip Balm
One of my favorite things about this easy DIY Kool-Aid lip balm is that it’s so inexpensive to make and there are so many different varieties of flavors and colors to choose from. My daughter loves to give these as gifts, in fact she is making these again this year for Valentine’s Day.
Yields: 4 (5 gram) lip gloss containers
Ingredients for Homemade Lip Balm with Kool Aid
- 1 Microwave safe bowl
- 4 small bowls
- 4 wooden craft sticks
- 4 Lip Balm containers
- 1/3 cup Vaseline petroleum jelly, divided
- Your favorite flavors of Kool-Aid – I used strawberry, black cherry, pink lemonade and grape.
- Optional – granulated sugar
How to Make Kool-Aid Lip Balm
1. Add 1/3 cup Vaseline to a microwave safe bowl. Microwave the petroleum jelly on high for 40-45 seconds or until soft and mostly melted. Stir.
2. Transfer the softened Vaseline to the four bowls, dividing the amount up evenly (about 1 Tablespoon each)
3. Sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon of your favorite Kool-Aid powder into each bowl and stir with wooden craft stick or spoon. Optional – you can add a pinch of granulated sugar to each bowl if you want the balm to be sweetened.
4. Transfer each flavored lip balm mixture to an airtight container and use for up to 3 months.
5. ENJOY!!
This recipe can be easily doubled or tripled for a Valentine or birthday party! I LOVE sharing homemade gift ideas, so make sure to check out the many others that I’ve shared over the years!

This is awesome! I love lip balm and when I was little I would of loved making this. What a great idea for Valentine’s Day or a birthday party. Thanks for sharing at the #HomeMattersParty
I love this idea. Can you tell me if the pink lemonade comes out colored or natural? It looks very pale. I’d like to do this with a group of very young girls who don’t wear makeup. Thanks!
Where did u buy the containers to put each lip gloss in
Can you use coconut oil instead of petroleum jelly?
Great idea! I imagine it smells amazing!
Simple and easy.
When I added the Kool aid it did not change colors, should we add water?
Where can you get the containers ?
can we use somethings else instead of the kool aids?
