Disney Planes | Bring on the Merchandise #DisneyPlanesEvent

If there is one thing that Disney knows how to do (ok, other than a billion other things) it is to roll out a movie themed merchandise line like no other. The Planes merchandise line is no exception, as it is full of amazing, wonderful and exciting toys and apparel that kids (and adults!) will love.

One thing that I love about the movie merchandise is that the toys extend the love for the movie into our home, and it all kind of becomes part of our day to day life. It is so fun when one of our kids is really into a certain movie, and then the toys just seem to add to not only the collection, but to the magical world that they have created around the movie. For example, my son has been a huge Thomas & Friends fan since he was one year old… so his train table started out as an area just for Thomas. Shortly after getting the train table, be became obsessed with the Disney Cars movie and merchandise. So for about 2 years, Thomas and the Disney Cars characters shared the train table in peace … until MLP came along! (My Little Pony, in case you didn’t know) His little sister decided that her collection would take up residence right along the north side of the train table, just outside the official Cars racetrack. Fast forward 6 or 7 years (sob! where does the time go!??) and the train table is still in that very same place in our living room, and now it includes so many characters … including the newest addition of Planes characters. They even have their own runway right in the middle of the circle track!!

 

I also LOVE that my kids have no problem mixing characters into each others worlds… and for us, the Planes characters fit right in, in fact, according to my son “Finally! We have some options for air travel!” Well said, 8 year old boy. lol.

I realize that my kids will outgrow this one day, but for now… the train table stays in the living room as a daily reminder of their adventures and how many hours have been spent creating adventures. You can bet that this mama will shed a tear (ok… sob!) the day that we pack it all up, but I don’t see that happening any time soon!
