Monsters University Premiere and Tailgate Party #MonstersUPremiere
Disclosure: This event and trip to LA was an all expense paid journey sponsored by Disney. All thoughts, experiences and monster crushes are 100% my own!
I am still in LA, my head still spinning from my awesome adventures at the Monsters University Premiere and Tailgate Party which all took place at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood. This was my first Disney red (errr… in this case blue!) carpet event, and it definitely exceeded all of my expectations of what a Hollywood movie premiere might be like.
First of all… these Hollywood events draw a huge crowd, and it is so fun to watch the mobs of people gathered on the streets, just hoping to get a glimpse of some of the celebrities in attendance. This premiere was a bit special in that rather than an after party, the Monsters University premiere included a pre-function tailgate party. It was all so well put together with a collegiate type theme, and just about every kind of fun that you can imagine: food, drinks, games, swag, sweets, marching bands, cheerleaders, and yes, of course celebrities and their children, and even a few monsters here and there!
I attended this event with 24 other bloggers, and that only added the fun and excitement as we shared this experience together. From HUGE gumball machines which contained cupcakes (yum!) to Scare School enrollment which included getting my MU Student ID card:
I think that the most exciting element of this event, for me … was seeing how many people came together to celebrate this movie. There was so much joy in the air, and you could just feel the energy building as we neared the the much anticipated viewing of this film.
One of the best parts about any event are the people that you share it with, and there were so many fun bloggers on this trip, here are a few of them, including Tiffany from Fabulous Find by Tiffany, Jen from The Suburban Mom, Staci from 7 on a Shoestring, Isra from The Frugalette, Sherry from Family, Love and Other Stuff, Mariah from Formula Mom and Dawn from Blogging Mom of 4.
Curious to know what I thought of this film? I will have my movie review up soon, but until then… here are a few more of my favorite images from the event:
Thanks to the folks at Disney for this wonderful and unforgettable experience, something I will never forget!
*And a big thank you to Courtney from Cents of Style for helping me to decide what to wear and how to accessorize for this event, so thankful for having fashionable friends like her!
