Disney Behind the Scenes | In the Recording Studio #DisneyPlanesEvent
Disclosure: This event and trip to LA was an all expense paid journey sponsored by Disney. All thoughts, experiences and Disney character crushes are 100% my own!
My recent trip to LA included a day spent at the Disney Toon Studios. As part of our experience, we spend time with several of the teams that are instrumental in getting a movie to it’s finished state. As you can imagine, this is a long and tedious process… and it’s actually quite fascinating as well!
I am a hands on learner, so getting to see (and experience!) first hand, the step-by-step process of how a movie goes from concept to big screen was so amazing. It’s a long process (years and years in the making) and I have so much respect for these teams at Disney that literally pour their hearts into these movies.
One of the funnest parts of this experience for me, was getting to be in the actual recording studio where so many amazing actors and actresses have recorded their character voices. The team in the sound studio was amazing. Sound Engineer, George Thompson and Casting Director, Jason Henkel we so friendly and PATIENT with me as I took a crack at Teri Hatcher’s PLANES character, Dottie. Let me tell you straight up… this is NOT easy. Well, it wasn’t for me anyway, but there is so much passion and talent involved that you can’t help but smile the entire time… even if you are stumbling on your lines and bumbling like a goof ball as you do you take a crack at voice acting.
Here’s my crack at voice acting the part of Dottie….um…and this is take #ILostCount :
The end product of my attempt turned out pretty good, which just shows you how truly amazing they are at editing, take a peek here:
I hope this clip also gives you a glimpse into how awesome this movie is! My kids cannot wait, and I am oh-so excited to see it again with them… it’s a wonderful, wonderful story and I can’t wait for the rest of the world to see it! Remember… Disney’s PLANES hits theaters on August 9th!! Make sure to follow Disney’s PLANES on Facebook and Twitter @
And a huge thanks to the folks at Disney for this wonderful and unforgettable experience, something I will never forget!
