Halloween Decorating: How to Make a Mummy Pillow

We LOVE Halloween around here and I we have a few favorite tricks to decorate the house on the cheap! This mummy wrapped pillow is one of our favorites, and it’s SO easy to do. This quick tutorial will show you how to make a mummy pillow of your own.

Make your own Mummy Pillow for quick and easy Halloween decor!

The best part about this project is that you will using pillows that you already decorate with. The next best part is that besides the pillows, you are only going to need a few supplies: Ace bandages, large google eyes and glue dots. I actually use a white Vet wrap bandage (since my hubby is a veterinarian, we always have this on hand.)

The first thing that you are going to do is to use the glue dots to stick the google eyes onto the pillow. My kids love helping with this part.

Next, wrap your pillow. In most cases, the ace bandage will be self sticking, so you probably won’t even need to pin it, and you can just tuck it back into it self when you come to the top of the pillow. If that isn’t working, you can use a couple little safety pins to hold it in place. Once your bandage wrap is in place, move the bandages to reveal the eyes. And now you have an adorable mummy pillow:

Another thing that I love about these pillows is that you don’t have to store something bulky once Halloween is over. Just take apart your mummy pillows once Halloween is over and put your supplies in ziploc bag and store them with your Halloween decor, and do it all again next year!
