I love easy recipes – and this is such a classic recipe that works for so many occasions: Fourth of July (of course) but also Valentine’s Day, family reunions, birthday parties, Easter … so many ways that you could include this casserole dish style recipe into your dessert menu!

If you want to get really creative, you could top this one with hot fudge sauce (for the chocolate lovers out there!) or even adding in some sliced banana or chocolate curls / shavings on top! Other topping ideas include: mini chocolate chips, fine crumbs of crushed Oreo cookies, M&M candies and more!

Amazing desserts like this are the ones that become family traditions and this is definitely one that we make at least once a year!

  1. Good recipe but in your ingredients, instead of listing whipped cream, you should say whipped topping. That’s how you refer to it in the directions. I bought whipped cream but then saw I just needed whipped topping.

  2. Oh Diana, so sorry about that – I’ll update to clarify. We consider them both to be the same thing, but I’ll make it clearer in case anyone else might get confused. Thanks for letting me know!

  3. Oh wow; that looks so good and sounds so tasty! I can tell it will taste like a no-bake cheesecake. Pinned.

  4. I made this for my 4th of July family gathering. I doubled the recipe. It was a hit! Everyone loved it. I made it again for a family reunion the following weekend. There was no leftovers to speak of. It is so good. Light and refreshing. I did put in a 9 x 12 dish and spread it a little thinner to make it go a little farther. Great recipe!
