Easy Caramel Chocolate Pie Recipe
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. I am NOT one to make fancy-smancy desserts.
We really enjoy dessert around here, and we are pretty picky about the delicious part, but the elaborate baking just doesn’t happen too often.
Easy Caramel Chocolate Pie Recipe
If you are looking for easy recipes that will make your family (and your budget) smile, then I’m your girl. Here’s one of our favorites. I can whip it up pretty quick, with just a few ingredients on hand.
Caramel Chocolate Pie Recipe Ingredients
1 pie crust (homemade or store bought)
¾ cup brown sugar
3 eggs
¾ cup chocolate chips (milk chocolate or semi-sweet)
½ cup butter
½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
Caramel Topping (I like to use melted caramel for this)
Whipped Cream (optional)
On the stovetop, melt the butter and chocolate chips over a low to medium heat. Stir often to prevent
burning. Once melted, remove from heat.
In a bowl, mix the eggs, sugar, and cocoa powder. Whisk together. Add in the chocolate chips/butter
mixture and incorporate well.
Place your pie crust into a pie pan. Crimp edges if desired. Pour the pie mixture into the crust.
Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until the crust is slightly brown (center of the pie can be slightly
wiggly, it will set up). Let the pie cool well (at least an hour) before consuming.
Top with drizzled caramel topping and whipped cream.
*Tip: This recipe is also delicious with other toppings: raspberries, bananas, vanilla ice-cream… get creative!
