Edible Slime: Hawaiian Punch Slime Recipe
I’m *almost* embarrassed to tell you how much we are still loving slime over here. We are OBSESSED but let me tell you what I’ve come to realize, this is so much more than making homemade slime. It’s a fun way to connect with young kids and joining them in this slime craze – everything from unicorn slime to swedish fish slime and everything in between.
The hours of fun you’ll put in is priceless as you try out ALL of these fun slime recipes. (and trust me, I think we have tried them all!) Even though these require very little adult supervision (especially if your kids are a bit older) I still enjoy joining in on the fun when my daughter makes these slime creations and it’s been a great way for us to connect.
Watching my daughter make this super easy Hawaiian Punch Slime recipe (along with the other edible slime recipes that we have shared) I have come to appreciate one thing for sure: this is science and it is so much fun!
Her understanding of how all of these things work when mixed together is fascinating to me and I love how kids are finding fun and entertainment out of using their brains to create something so simple!

Ingredients for making Edible Slime with Drink Packets
*note, the color from the slime you see here was with an additional blue food coloring. If you use just the drink mix it will have a color, but it will be much lighter. Add drops of food coloring if you want more color.
Step by Step Instructions for making slime with drink packets
In a mixing bowl measure out about 1 cup of white frosting (or about half the can).
Add in 1 pack of Hawaiian Punch powder drink mix.
Add in 4 drop of food color, more if you want a very bright slime. (add in small amounts to test it out)
Start adding in powder sugar 1/4 cup at a time and mixing in until slime is no longer sticky. Roughly 1 3/4
cup to 2 cups of powder sugar. (you don’t want it to be gooey slime – stretchy edible slime is best! )
Note: Keep in mind as adding in powder sugar size of slime will double from what you start with it will
make a LOT of slime if you use the whole can of frosting.
You’ll want to store your edible slime in a sealed container (and airtight container works best) and also keep in mind, your homemade slime will probably have a shelf life of about a week, tops. For best results, I recommend writing the date the slime was made on the outside of the container.
