Camp Hideout Movie Review + Giveaway!

Do you love comedies that are family friendly? I’m excited to share with you my Camp Hideout movie review, a truly fun and delightful movie!

In addition to being a comedy, this fun film also has a few life lessons woven into the story line. It’s a feel good light-hearted movie that also portrays the importance of friendship, forgiveness, and comradery. 

About Camp Hideout

Noah is a troubled teen who becomes involved with a couple of local thugs. He nearly gets caught stealing a top-secret device, and winds up hiding out at a church Summer camp. 

A self-proclaimed loner, Noah must learn to trust the other campers when the thieves find out where he is hiding and show up at the camp. 

Hilarity occurs during the course of the film, including a free-for-all food fight. Once Noah realizes the other campers have his back and the thieves show up, they all band together to keep the device away from the thugs.

Rated PG, it’s a wonderful, fun movie. The underlying lessons of forgiveness in faith do not come across as “preachy”. Rather, they are gently presented to the audience thru the storyline. I truly enjoyed this movie, and it will definitely send you down memory lane if you’ve ever been to Summer camp.

The Cast of Camp Hideout

Camp Hideout stars Christopher Lloyd as temperamental camp owner Falco. Other cast members include Corbin Bleu as camp counselor Jake, Amanda Leighton as camp counselor Selena, and Ethan Drew as Noah. I felt that this movie was well cast.

Some of the supporting cast members include Tyler Kowalski, Zion Wyatt, and one of my personal favorites – Lazarus (Falco’s dog).

My Thoughts and Review of Camp Hideout

I believe you will enjoy this film and it’s definitely one for all ages. Some of the best scenes involve the grumpy character played by Christopher Lloyd. This character becomes more endearing towards the end of the movie.

There are some subtle religious undertones. Overall though, the film is more about the underlying message of trust, friendship, family and belonging. Part of what makes this movie special is that there is such a wide span of ages that would enjoy it. 

I honestly can see children as young as pre-school up to those in their 90’s finding this movie enjoyable. There are some tender moments intertwined with the humorous ones. This a great movie to take the entire family too.

I find it so refreshing to watch a movie that envelops you into the characters and story from the beginning to the end. One of the other fun things I enjoyed was when Noah turned to the camera and spoke directly to the audience, reminiscent of “Ferris Bueller”. 

There were some scenes that reminded me somewhat of “Home Alone”, especially when the campers set up a variety of obstacles to thwart the goons. I really feel like you will enjoy this film and find it humorous, uplifting and well-acted.
