This gripping movie is more than just a story about survival, it is also a heart warming story of finding inner strength and courage.

About On Fire

Dave and Sarah Laughlin, along with their son Clay and Dave’s father George, live in a trailer home deep in the woods.

Pretty much a very quiet and ordinary life until devastating wildfires rip through the surrounding countryside. With precious moments ticking by, their only chance at survival lies in escaping the relentless fury of mother nature.

Pregnant Sarah tries to drive to safety along with her son and father-in-law as Dave tries to get to them. The situation becomes more perilous as the fire spreads and they must use all of their wits to survive and out run the fire.

Main stars include Peter Facinelli (you may know him for playing Dr. Carlisle Cullen in the Twilight movies), Fiona Dourif as Sarah Laughlin, Asher Angel as Clay Laughlin, and Lance Henriksen as George Laughlin.

Other top cast include Ashlei Foushee as Kayla (911 operator) and Glenn Morshower as hardware store owner, Marv.

My Review of On Fire

I found this movie to be gripping from the very beginning. The musical score assisted with the suspense, and I very quickly became captivated by the story line.

There are some dramatic moments and it is rated PG-13. A few scenes have images that could be disturbing to young children.

The movie was well cast, and Ashelei Foushee had some very heartfelt moments as the conflicted 911 operator who had to remain calm and professional – even while feeling helpless at times.

Watching the family face perils and overcome each setback with strong willed determination was very moving. I think you will really enjoy this engaging movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat!
