Easy Doughnut Recipe
Easy Doughnut Recipe
Here’s a fun and EASY doughnut recipe that is very affordable, and easy to make with just a few ingredients.
This will give the fancy store bought glazed doughnuts a run for their money, and you won’t have to venture out in your PJ’s to buy them!
We like to call this a Krispy Kreme copycat donut and whether you spell it doughnut or donut? Either way, it ends up delicious!
Ingredients for making homemade donuts
1 tube of grands or large refrigerated biscuits
1/8 cup milk
2 cups powdered sugar
Oil for frying
How to make homemade donuts from Grands
Place an inch or two of oil (any oil that is good for frying will work) in a saucepan on the stove over medium heat.
Open the biscuits and separate. Using any small round object, punch holes in the middle of each biscuit.
Don’t toss these, you can make doughnut holes with them!
Once your oil is warm and starting to make a bubbling sound, place each doughnut in the oil. Let it cook for a few minutes on each side to make it brown, if your oil is hotter it will take less time to cook. Remove the cooked doughnuts from the oil when they are golden brown on each side and place them on a plate to dry and cool a bit.
In a bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk until there are no more lumps. Pour the glaze mixture over the doughnuts as desired and enjoy warm.
