Wedge Salad Recipe with Homemade Blue Cheese Dressing
Yesterday I shared with you my homemade Blue Cheese Dressing recipe and today I am sharing with you how it combines perfectly with this Wedge Salad recipe to make a wonderful addition to any meal. We LOVE Wedge Salad. It’s easy and works with so many different types of meals and in so many different seasons.
Salad Ingredients
1 head iceberg lettuce
4 slices of thick cut back, cooked and crumbled
1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
1/4 cup chopped tomatoes
1/4 cup blue cheese crumbles
Blue cheese dressing (above)
Salad Instructions
Wash and dry the lettuce, keeping it fully intact. Remove the core and cut into 4 wedges.
Place one lettuce wedge on each plate and drizzle with Blue Cheese Dressing (see my homemade Blue Cheese Dressing) I use about 1/3 cup per wedge, which sounds like a lot, but a wedge of lettuce is more than you think it will be!
Lastly, sprinkle each lettuce wedge with bacon, red onion, tomatoes and extra blue cheese crumbles, if desired.
Blue Cheese Dressing Recipe
Nothing beats homemade, and this homemade Blue Cheese Dressing recipe is no exception. It has so much flavor, and is so much better than a store bought version. We use this for everything from salad dressing (obviously) to veggie dips, and I have even been known to put it on sandwiches. It has such a wonderful kick to it, and if you love blue cheese, then you will love this dressing!
