Visiting the Future in Disneyland’s Tomorrowland
Disclosure: This event and trip to LA was an all expense paid journey sponsored by Disney. All thoughts, experiences, opinions and character crushes are 100% my own!
Visiting the Future in Disneyland’s Tomorrowland
Earlier this month, I travelled to LA to attend a press junket with 24 other bloggers for the film TOMORROWLAND. This included a press screening of the film, sit down interviews cast members (you can read my George Clooney interview and my Britt Roberson interview – and be on the lookout for more cast and director/producer interviews coming soon!) and you can also read about my time in the Walt Disney Archives!
Today I want to share with you my time in Tomorrowland at Disneyland, which was Walt Disney’s way of sharing his futuristic visions with the world. Currently in Tomorrowland, visitors can visit the Captain EO Theater for an awesome movie sneak peek, and they also have a wonderful room full of TOMORROWLAND movie props and photos set up so that visitors can see all of this awesome memorabilia first hand! I hope you can visit Disneyland, but if you can’t, you can check out my TOMORROWLAND props and sneak peek post to get a fun look at all of that.
Here’s the thing. Walt Disney had an enormous vision (HUGE). He had big dreams. He encouraged others to dream. He gave us a place to come and be inspired to dream.
Who doesn’t love Disneyland?? It really is one of my favorite places to visit. As soon as I step through those magical gates, I feel like my heart is fuller and my spirits are lifted. Since this trip was centered around the Tomorrowland theme, I spent a lot of time thinking about Tomorrowland, and all of the meaning behind the visions that Walt Disney had. I tried to picture myself as a young visitor to Disneyland in the 50s. How magical that must have been, and how exciting that it is still around today, more magical and exciting than ever!
Here’s me… at the entrance Grand Californian Hotel… entering the HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH!
Tomorrowland at Disneyland is filled with so many fantastic futuristic visions, rides and experiences. Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage and my very favorite Tomorrowland ride: Star Tours – The Adventures Continue and so much more!
Just around the corner from Tomorrowland, you will find of the most iconic Disneyland rides: It’s a Small World.
When you see TOMORROWLAND the movie, you will understand the significance of the It’s a Small World ride. This ride is a must do at Disneyland for me as there is something so simple about it (and I also love the fact that my friend Karen sang to us the ENTIRE ride through, lol!)
Here’s the funny thing about the future. Thinking about it, can actually make you feel like a kid again, because children are dreamers, and the best way to think about the future, is from a dreamers point of view!
