She’s Crafty! Valentine’s Day Heart Doily Treat Holder
As Valentine’s Day draws near, doily hearts will be everywhere! It seems as though these are a Valentine’s Day staple, perfect for using in your crafting and decorating. But did you know these doily hearts can be used to hold your sweet treats as well? Take a look below at how to make your own Valentne’s Day Heart Doily Treat Holder! It is easier to make than it is to say, that’s for sure!!
Paper doily hearts (large work best, use any color of your choice)
Hot glue, glue gun
Ribbon or twine
Treats such as conversation hearts
1. Begin by folding each side of the heart inward. You want to fold over enough so that each side crosses over the other. Add a dab of glue under the top flat only to hold it in place.
2. Turn your holder over so the glued side is exposed. Bend the bottom two inches or so of the heart upward. This will close the bottom and help the doily hold treats. Secure it in place with a drop of glue.
3. Turn your doily back over so the clean, seamless side is exposed.
4. Tie a length of ribbon or twine around the holder. Tie into a gentle knot.
You can now fill your treat holder with small treats such as conversation hearts. Just fill the treat holder up and place it upright in a basket for guests to take. If you wish, you can fold the top over to hold the treats in and transport the holders easier.
