Ordinary Angels is an inspirational movie is based on the true story of a hairdresser who sets her mind to help a widower struggling to make ends meet after the loss of his wife and dealing with a critically ill daughter.
About Ordinary Angels
Ed Schmitt is a hard-working polite man struggling with a mountain of hospital bills after his wife passes away. He is also dealing with his critically ill younger daughter.
Sharon Stevens is a local hairdresser who likes to drink and party. After her fellow hairdresser and friend stages an intervention, Sharon sees a newspaper article about the Schmitt family and finds purpose in trying to help them.
While Sharon starts off with a fundraiser, she winds up getting the community to come together to rally behind the Schmitt family.

This movie had an outstanding cast! Starring Hilary Swank as Sharon Stevens, it also stars Alan Ritchson as Ed Schmitt, Tamala Jones as hairdresser Rose and Nancy Travis as Ed’s mom.
Additional cast members include Drew Powell, Amy Acker, Skywalker Hughes, and Emily Mitchell.
My Review of Ordinary Angels
This movie was SO good and the story unfolded beautifully. I do recommend some tissues on hand, as there are definitely a few emotional scenes. Hilary Swank’s portrayal of Sharon is spot on, making this Ordinary Angel a true inspiration.
There are some underlying lessons to be learned, including the power of people coming together to work towards a common goal and the difference one person can make by putting others first.
Throughout the movie, you will be rooting for entire family, and be inspired by how the community comes together thru the efforts of one woman who just won’t take no for an answer.
I truly believe you will love this movie as much as I did, and this is one to not only watch in theaters, but to add to your movie collection. It’s such a heart-warming story, that will tug at your heart strings.
I loved that there were clips from the actual events as well as updated information on the Schmitt family and Sharon at the end of the movie.
