Halloween Party Idea: Yummy Spider Webs Treat + FREE Printable
Oh my goodness did we have fun making this Yummy Spider Webs treat! Having a tween in the house around the holidays is so much fun!
My daughter is always helping me to come up with new and unique holiday themed recipes and each year, for the past few years, we’ve tried to come up with a new gross recipe idea for Halloween.

You might remember our popular Dirty Earwax Q-Tip treats (so gross!) or our Dirty Bandaid treats (also so gross). This year we decided to go a little less gross but still “icky”, if you will.
The very best part about this edible spider web treat is that it’s SO easy and super affordable. In fact, to make this gross Halloween treat you’ll only need a few supplies – and a sense of humor.
Supplies for making Yummy Spider Web treats

Stapler

How to make this Edible Spider Web Treat
The first thing you’ll want to do is print out our FREE Yummy Spider Web treat printables. You can use plain paper, but I prefer cardstock. Any color will work, but we used a tan card stock with marbling for a spooky effect.
Cut out the individual printables (it will print two per page) and fold them. There is a front and back side to these.
Next, stuff ziplock bags with plain white cotton candy. If you have a cotton candy machine you can make your own or you can purchase cotton candy.
Add one single plastic spider inside each bag so that it is clearly visible.
Staple the folded Yummy Spider Web printables to the bags.
And now you have a super spooky Yummy Spider Web treat!
I get the biggest kick out of these gross Halloween treat ideas, and I think that the reaction from the kids is what makes me enjoy things like this so much. They go nuts for these and of course, kids always love cotton candy!
One thing that I’ve learned over the years (and my kids are now tween and teen) is that they really enjoy and appreciate the little things. They don’t care if things are Pinterest perfect, they live in the moment and they enjoy the gesture.
I learned this early on in my “classroom mom volunteer” days and I have always tried to remember that kids are so much less critical than we are. In fact, I think they truly enjoy the little things, which is what makes holidays with children so much fun!
This edible spider web snack would be a fun treat to pair with a Halloween classroom party and maybe a fun spider story time with some of the book suggestions below.
Sometimes one of the biggest challenges with holiday or group activities is keeping them simple and affordable, and this is one meets all the marks because it’s both of those things!
Great Halloween Treat for Craft Shows and Bazaars
If you do any craft fairs or bake sales, this would also be a fantastic item to sell. Costing just around 20¢ each (at most – especially if you shop at the Dollar store!) you could easily sell these for $1.00 each. We’ve done really well over the years with items like this at bake sales and/or craft fairs.
Favorite Halloween Treats, Recipes and Crafts
Other favorites for selling include:
Tootsie Pop Spiders – perfect for little gifts, package toppers – and fantastic for bake sales and craft fairs.
Snowman Candy Bar craft – super easy and fun and a great little gift item!
Snowman Parts Treat Bag (and FREE printable) – another really easy and fun one to assemble!
