Disney’s Hollywood Studios Toy Story Land
Nestled in Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando, Florida, you will find a magical land that exists in celebration of Toy Story.
This past week, I had the chance to attend a press event in celebration of the upcoming release of Toy Story 4. This included a screening of the film (review coming soon!) along with cast interviews (also coming soon!) and a wonderfully fantastic night at Disney’s Hollywood Studios where we headed into Toy Story Land after watching the movie.
Disclosure: I was hosted by Disney for this press event. All opinions and character crushes are 100% my own.
It was our first time visiting Toy Story Land. The concept is that you are walking into Andy’s backyard. It’s truly magical and as a mom that watched her kids grow up watching and loving the Toy Story franchise, this was such a moving experience to share with my kids!
One of the most exciting things about heading into Toy Story Land was the fact that we had just screened Toy Story 4! Look for my review on that coming later this week, but without saying too much I’ll just tell you that our Toy Story emotions and love were so high as we headed into the park that I got teary eyed several times just thinking about what a big part of our lives these characters have been.
My kids have literally grown up with these films, in fact – I grew up on them! The original Toy Story movie came out in 1995 and through the passage of time, we’ve all went through the phases of life that make the moments and emotions in these films to real.
To this day, my son’s Woody and Buzz Lightyear sit up in his closet. I check on them every time I go into his room. There is some kind of security in knowing that they are there, at least for my mama heart.
So, seeing my kids literally mingling with the Toy Story characters like old friends, it was enough to make my heart swell. My son and Buzz Lightyear looked like old pals. Because, well. They are.
It really felt like we were small toys in Andy’s backyard! As we were walking among the tinker toys and building blocks, the Toy Story Green Army Men came marching through. They were fantastic and I’m so glad that I got a video to share with you:
My daughter and Woody connected like old friends. But that’s just it, right? They are! That’s the world that Pixar has so beautifully created for us, a world where we connect with, and love these characters. They not only provide us with entertainment, but life lessons as well.
My daughter and Buzz Lightyear danced and my heart was in my throat. Truly magical.
I summed up my thoughts in my IG post the next day:
