FROZEN Cupcakes: Blue Snowflake Candy Cupcakes for Disney Themed Party!

Disney FROZEN FANS will love FROZEN cupcakes for your Frozen themed party or event! If you’ve got a little girl with FROZEN fever, you’ll love these fun cupcakes inspired by Disney’s FROZEN movie!
 
Made with melted Jolly Ranchers, these fun Festive Blue Snowflake Candy Cupcakes will be a hit at any holiday party and I love how classic they look! We call these FROZEN cupcakes because they are especially timely and fun for your Disney themed FROZEN movie birthday party or event!
 
Even better, these fun snowflake cupcakes are SO easy to make! 
 
You can either make the cupcakes or cheat a little (I won’t tell!) and buy them pre-made and add the candy accents. I’ve got a recipe below for a very basic vanilla cupcakes recipe – but of course you can use another cupcake recipe or a boxed cupcake mix if you are short on time

So fun and festive, these blue snowflake candy cupcakes are easy and have such a classic holiday look!

 
These would be so fun for a Disney themed FROZEN party or even winter themed cupcakes – and they would also make a nice additional to a classroom party or event.
 
Disney’s FROZEN is such a huge hit with kids of all ages, and these darling cupcakes with melted candy toppings are sure to be a popular addition as you celebrate Disney princesses Anna and Elsa!
 
My daughter loves to help me with melting Jolly Rancher candies, and you could even use these for FROZEN cake decorations too!
 
 

Candy Materials You Will Need to Make Disney FROZEN Cupcake Toppers

 
Baking cookie sheet
 
For the candy making part, all you will need are BLUE Jolly Ranchers and a silicone snowflake mold.
 
 

How to Make Blue Candy Snowflakes out of Jolly Ranchers for FROZEN Cupcakes

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
 
Open the blue Jolly Ranchers and discard the wrappers.
 
Place 2 wrappers in each silicone snowflake mold.
 
Place the silicone mold on the baking sheet and bake in the oven for 10-15 or until the Jolly Ranchers are completely melted.
(you might also have luck melting Jolly Ranchers in the microwave in 30-second intervals but honestly, I prefer the oven)
 
 
Remove from the oven and let cool.
 
Once the candies have cooled and hardened, gently pop them out of the silicone mold.
 
 

Homemade Cupcakes from Scratch Ingredients

 
1 C. granulated sugar
1/2 C. butter, melted
2 large eggs
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 1/2 C. all purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 C. milk
white frosting (you could also do blue frosting)
disposable piping bag
cupcake liners
*again, you can also make these cupcakes from a box mix and then frost cupcakes with a store bought frosting.
 
 

How to Make Homemade Cupcakes from Scratch

 
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line a 12 count muffin tin with cupcake liners.
Combine the granulated sugar, melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, flour, baking powder and milk.
Scoop the cupcake batter into the muffin tins filling each about 3/4 full.
Bake 20-25 minutes.
Remove from the oven and let warm cupcakes cool.
Attach the frosting tip to the disposable piping bag and fill with frosting. (I prefer a large decorating tip) 
Gently squeeze the frosting out of the bag and onto each cupcake in a circular motion.
Top with a blue candy star. *I recommend using a dot of frosting on the back of the snowflake candies for extra support 
Repeat with each cupcake.

*Makes approximately 12 cupcakes

Store in an airtight container until you are ready to serve!

Tips for Making Frozen Cupcakes for a Disney Themed Birthday Party

You could make your cupcakes ahead of time and freeze cupcakes to they are easy to frost. You could also use these Disney FROZEN cupcakes as

a party activity! Freeze the cupcakes and make the candy ice (melted Jolly Rancher toppings) ahead of time and then let the kids decorate them! They’ll have a ball creating their own Queen Elsa Cupcakes!

We used white icing but as I mentioned above, you could use a little blue food coloring to also make some blue icing. Add additional toppings like snowflake sprinkles, tiny white candy toppings, tiny white chocolate chips and other fun sprinkles on top of each cupcake.

As mentioned above, you can use our from scratch cupcake recipe or use a boxed white cake mix, in the end you’ll have fun Disney themed FROZEN frosted cupcakes that everyone will love!

And best of all, these easy FROZEN cupcakes will also serve as party decor!

Ingredients
