FINDING DORY Halloween Fun!

As part of my recent trip to LA, I had the chance to participate in a really fun Dory pumpkin carving activity with Joseph Yakovetic who actually happens to be not only a master pumpkin carver for Disney, but a super talented guy! You can check out some of his work here. He is SO talented! I have several of his art print pieces on my “wish” list. You can see some of his amazing pumpkin carving creations here. It was such an honor to get the chance to carve pumpkins under his direction, I could have done this all day!

We started off by tracing a carbon image of Dory on our pumpkins:

Next, we used black sharpie pens to fill in the lines and dark areas.

Then we added acrylic paints.

And for the finishing touch, we used chisels to carve out the eyes and the areas around the pumpkin.

I love how my pumpkin turned out and the best part was that they shipped my pumpkin home for me. My kids got a really great kick out of it! This fun day of pumpkin carving in the California sun was all part of the excitement surrounding the release of Disney/Pixar Finding Dory Blu-ray and DVD!
