How to become an Instacart Shopper
These are crazy times, aren’t they? I was a huge fan of Instacart before, but it’s actually become a vital service to many who can’t risk leaving their homes.
We started using Instacart two years ago. I realized that the literal two hours that it takes me to grocery shop was time that was better spent elsewhere. Having someone pick out and delivery my groceries was a little gift that I could give myself to take that one stressful stop out of my day. Plus, in some cases I feel like it saved me money because I wasn’t grabbing things I didn’t need.
Fast forward to the “stay at home” times we are living in now. Instacart has literally become a lifeline for many.
If you or someone you know is looking for employment opportunities, Instacart might be the answer!
What a great way to help others and provide additional income for yourself as well!
How to sign up to become an Instacart Shopper
They make the process so easy!
Just head to the Instacart Shopper signup page to get started. Next, you’ll download the Instacart app and start the process.
How does Instacart Work?
By entering in their grocery order through the app, customers send out orders which are picked up by Instacart shoppers.
Shoppers then go pull the items, with the ability to text the customer with questions if needed. This is my favorite part.
I love a good shopper that isn’t afraid to text me about specifics. I even have one gal that will send me pics of sale items. She’ll also let me know if she thinks the produce doesn’t look as good as it should. The key here is to be a good shopper. They are the ones that get the best tips. And I’m sure those are the shoppers that get the most work.
Two Kinds of Instacart Shoppers
There are two kinds of Instacart shoppers. Depending on your lifestyle and availability, you can select the one that works the best for you!
I also love this because if you don’t drive or don’t have a car (or don’t want to drive) their are employment opportunities IN the store. This type of shopper is an In-store Instacart shopper.
Full-Service Instacart Shopper
More like your own boss, the Full-Service Shopper option is a great way to really set yourself up with a business opportunity that fits your schedule and provides a flexible work opportunity.
How much does an Instacart Shopper make?
I’m not exactly sure how much Instacart shoppers make because I haven’t been a shopper myself, but in my conversations with my favorite Instacart shopper and others, I think it ranges between $10 and $20 per hour, and this also probably depends on how efficient and quite of a shopper you are.
In these times, I also think caution and kindness go a long way, and I’m certain that the biggest tips go to those who go the extra mile.
I’m a huge fan of services that help others and this one falls into the category of my very favorite things because this service is a win/win for all parties.
