Best of Baby Month: Walmart Car Seat Trade In Event 2019
I love how popular these baby car seat trade in events have become!
Last month Target stores had a car seat trade-in event, and now Walmart has stepped up to offer parents a $30 Walmart gift card when you trade in your old car seat!
One of the big, yet super necessary, purchases of parenting: car seats.
One of the most frustrating thing about car seats? They expire! Kids outgrow them and/or the car seat technology changes. As you know, the bottom line is, sometimes you need an upgrade on this expensive safety feature.
If you are in the market for a new child car seat, you’ll want to hear this exciting news. As part of JPMA’s National Baby Safety Month, Walmart has teamed up with TerraCycle to recycle used car seats.
I’ve long written about Smart Parenting topics on the blog, and while my kids are no longer in car seats, I’m
If you’ve ever tried to get rid of a used car seat, you know how frustrating it can be.
Because of the always changing and updating technology and expiration dates, child car seats are really hard to pass on to others. They are definitely not an item that we need in landfills.
These baby car seat trade in events are brilliant for helping parents get rid of old car seats. I commend these stores for getting behind these movements to keep child car seats out of landfills.
Considering that most families have several, that adds up to LOT of plastics and waste that can be diverted through these events.

Other Store Sponsored Child Car Seat Trade-in Events
Aside from the Walmart child car seat trade in, and the Target car seat trade-in event that I mentioned above, I haven’t really been able to find any other options for trading in used car seats.
Donation centers usually don’t accept used car seats. Due to the ever changing laws and restrictions (and expiration dates) and for these reasons, they are pretty tough to sell at garage sales as well.
Kudos to Target and Walmart for hosting these child seat turn in events and if you know of any others, I’d love to hear about them!
