The ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS Premiere
I definitely fall into the “dreamer” category. I think this is why Alice has always resonated so deeply with me, but maybe even a little more now than ever before. With Disney, magical things definitely tend to happen and these past few days were a whirlwind of Disney magic for me.
My Blue Shoes on the Red Carpet at The ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS Premiere in LA
“Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.” ~ Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland
Disclosure: This event and trip to LA was an all expense paid journey sponsored by Disney. All thoughts, opinions and experiences are 100% my own!
My Blue Shoes
More on that story coming soon, but how I ended up with blue sparkly shoes was a highlight of this trip for me. Watch for my interview with producer Suzanne Todd to get the full scoop on the shoes, but for now, I want to share with you my awesome experience of walking, with these blue shoes, on the red carpet for the premiere of ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS in LA at the famous–and fabulous– El Capitan Theater.
Along with 24 other bloggers, I was invited to share in this experience. Our experience included some cast, producer and director interviews earlier in the day (coming soon!) and we were also able to screen this movie once before the red carpet premiere and then again at the premiere. I will be sharing my review soon, but honestly, it’s pretty hard to contain my excitement. This film is amazing. Colorful. Magical and for me, sends a wonderful message about all of the things we can do, if we just believe that we can.
Pink LIVE at The ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS Premiere
It all started off with front row spots to Pink’s performance of her new song “Just Like Fire” which was written specifically by her for this movie. The performance was part of her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live and it was amazing!
On the Red Carpet
After the concert it was time to hit the red carpet. From this point on the night was a frenzy of fabulous chaos that was literally almost too much to keep up with but I tried to soak in every moment.
Here are some of my personal snapshots from all of the excitement. The whole experience was overwhelming. Huge crowds. (Look at the top of the buildings in the Pink concert photos above, crowds of people, all cheering and watching for celebrities, it’s amazing!) The red carpet itself is so much to take in, very busy and full of energy and of course, celebrities.
Below you will see Alice Through the Looking Glass star Johnny Depp (The Mad Hatter) and co-star Sacha Baron Cohen (Time). Take a peek at the other photos below to see if you notice any other celebrities!
Can you spot the real housewife above? I was SO excited to see Kyle Richards, she looked amazing. At one point she was with fellow Beverly Hills Housewife Erika Jayne and they both looked stunning.
Alice Through The Looking Glass Merchandise
Of course every good Disney movie has to have it’s merchandise and this one is no exception. In fact, I might be in a bit of trouble here as my wish list has already grown quite long! Just yesterday, HSN revealed it’s line of Alice Through The Looking Glass merchandise.
Here is a peek at some of the pieces that we were able to preview on the red carpet:
Aren’t these pieces amazing? You can see the entire collection on the HSN site here.
Of course, as part of the premiere, we watching the movie! This was my second time seeing the film and I loved it even more the second time because I picked up on several details that I had missed the first time. Seeing it in the El Capitan theater was amazing as well, so historic and you could just feel the excitement in the room as they movie started. Since movie premieres are full of the people that worked so hard on the film, you can feel the pride and joy around you as the movie plays and I love the excitement and applause at the end as the credits role because these people are actually in the room enjoying the fruits of their labor!
Such a colorful and happy film, I can’t wait for you to all see it. This view of the El Capitan at the end of the night was just breath taking to me.
The After Party
After the premiere, we headed over to the after party which was amazing! We were literally able to mingle with the people that made this movie! Cast members where their with their families, it was amazing and of course the food and decor was wonderful as well!
The highlight of my night was getting to hang out with Alice Through The Looking Glass producer Suzanne Todd. I’ll be sharing our interview with her soon, along with the story of how I ended up with HER blue shoes (yes! the shoes came from Suzanne!) but I just have to say that Suzanne is one of the nicest and REALEST women that I have ever met. Clearly brilliant, but she is also a very warm and friendly person. Here were are at the PREMIERE of her movie, and she was so approachable, very interactive and I think that what I noticed most of all is that she is a woman who encourages and supports other women. Truly inspiring, beautiful inside and out. She also happens to be the producer of the soon to be released movie Bad Moms, which I can’t wait to see!!

We also had the chance to meet Alice star Matt Lucas (plays twins Tweedledee and Tweedledum). He was very friendly as well, and speaks with a wonderful accent.

As you can tell from the photo, the party was dark (not great for photo taking!) but packed and the energy was amazing. They had some fun things like this green screen photo booth. Here is a pic of me and my friend Lolli from Food Fun Family.
