I am always on the lookout for great gift ideas, especially gift ideas to send across the miles. I was recently asked to review these cakes from Janie’s Cakes and as you might know, I’m always up for a dessert review.
These cakes are darling! They arrive packaged so nicely, what a treat these would be to receive in the mail. The box looks like something out of a fancy bakery, and the cakes themselves are package so well that they made the journey across the country and they look as if they were just picked up at the bakery.
I think that receiving these would be such a wonderful surprise and you can send them for less than the price of sending flowers!
As you can see above, that is what our cake boxes looked like when they arrived. Below is what one of our Janie’s Cakes looked like (1/2 eaten!). Isn’t it pretty? And, I can tell you, it was delicious.
About Janie’s Cakes
Janie is what you might call a pound cake perfectionist. That’s why every ingredient is the real deal: farm-fresh eggs, creamery butter, pure cane sugar and absolutely no preservatives. Of course, Janie also has her creative bent. That’s why she is always experimenting, creating quirky reinventions of her classic pound cake. Of course, this old-fashioned, all-natural pound cake still wears its heart on its sleeve and its buttercream icing in its middle–another thing that makes every Janie’s cake just a bit unexpected.
Where to order?
I love the idea of sending these as a sweet gesture for just about any occasion. They are prefect for a hostess gift, housewarming, and I love the idea of sending these cakes across the miles for special holidays like Easter.
