World Premiere of FROZEN at at the El Capitan Theatre

Disclosure: This event and trip to LA will be an all expense paid journey sponsored by Disney. All thoughts, experiences and Disney character crushes are 100% my own!

I am so excited to share with you the amazing (I still have chills!!) experience that I had in LA earlier this week at  the red carpet premiere of Disney’s FROZEN!

First of all, let it be that known that in the spirit of the wintery theme, the red carpet was actually white, and despite the fact that this event was held in LA,  they actually brought in REAL snow!

I attended this event with 24 other bloggers and it was so fun to see all of the excitement in the air!

The streets for an event like this are lined with spectators, and the entire street is blocked off for the long carpet walk to entrance of the El Capitan Theatre: Theater

El Capitan

Upon entering this historic theatre for the premiere, all cameras were taken at the door, as there are no photos allowed once you are inside. This created a much more intimate situation as celebrities and media alike shuffled to find their seats.

You could just feel the anticipation building as Disney songs were playing joyfully by an organist center stage.

I can’t even describe (without sounding even more gushy than I already do) how much magic is in the air. We were actually sitting behind several of the child stars from the Disney shows Jessie, Liv and Maddie and Ant Farm.

It was so neat to see these characters just “being kids” and to wonder if they have any idea of the kind of magic that they are right in the middle of. I must point out, that they were darling and very well behaved kids, I was super impressed with that.

Robert Iger Gives Tribute to Diane Disney Miller

The opening of the premiere was made extra special, as Robert A. Iger gave a tribute and mention of the fact that just that very day (November 19th, 2013) one of Walt Disney’s daughters, Diane Disney Miller, had passed away.

There is always such a rich history and magic tied to any Disney event, so sitting in that beautiful theater, and hearing of her passing, (as she was one of the very reasons that Walt himself was so passionate about all that he did) made seeing the premiere that much more special.

As Iger said, Walt created the movies that he did to bring out the child in all of us, and I think that he was more than successful at that. I love that the legacy lives on generation after generation, even as life goes on. Soooooo… my Frozen premiere experience started off with me having quite a large lump in my throat… and then.

It began to snow. Right there in the theater …. real falling snow.

The movie. As the movie began to play, snow falling … the magic began, and let me tell you, there is LOTS of magic in this movie.

It was, well, beyond super cool. WOW… but for my review, you will have to wait! … I’ll be posting my official review in a few days. Until then, I will share with you the wonderful photos from the event, see if you recognize anyone:

At Disney’s Frozen World Premiere After Party

After the premiere, we headed on over to the after party, which was a lovely and fascinating event in itself.

There were ice sculptures, live ice-carving, crafts and games for the children, and of course appearances by the characters themselves and some fabulous food! It was so fun to mingle with friends among the celebrities and the voice characters and creators of Frozen as they celebrated the premiere of the movie that they had all worked so hard on… and rightly so!
