Just one last shout out and THANKS to all of you who have gotten involved with Team Katie, donated, commented and cared, and allowed me to share with you the story of my cousin Katie who is fighting breast cancer.
She is a 33 year old wife and mother of two little adorable munchkin twins. Can you imagine? I can’t. I think about it all the time, and she is quite possibly one of the bravest people that I know.
You can read more about Katie and her the amazing things she is doing for OTHERS with cancer, even while fighting cancer herself.
Tomorrow is the BIG Day that Team Katie will participate in the 2010 Komen Tulsa Race for the Cure!!
I just wanted to share with you a message that Katie just send out to all of the members of Team Katie…and even if you are not officially on the race team (over 40 people are!) … then I still wanted to share with you the closing lines of her team email:
I know I have thanked you over and over and please don’t be put off when you see me cry on Saturday. I am just overwhelmed by the………….I don’t know what to call it. Just know that this means more than you know to me.
See you Saturday.
Update: Many of you have asked me over the past couple of years about Katie, and I’m very sad to say that she lost her battle against this horrible disease.
You can read more about Katie here, but I hope if nothing else – her story will inspire you to do whatever you can to help fight cancer. It is such a thief and I look forward to a day when no one will have to suffer and struggle with the heartache that breast cancer creates.
Rest in peace, beautiful Katie. You will never be forgotten.
