What is your favorite thing about the holiday season? I love it all … everything! If I had to narrow it down to what means the very most to me during the holidays, I would have to say that it’s all about spending time with loved ones. And of course, Hallmark Channel always provides the perfect programming to get us all in the holiday spirit with their Countdown to Christmas programing!
Now that my daughter is a teenager, we LOVE our Hallmark movie watching time. Grab the hot cocoa, the snacks and snuggle up. These movies are the best way to ring in the holidays!!
This year, there are 17 new original movies premiering as part of the #MiraclesofChristmas event and I am super excited to share with you that I have partnered with Hallmark to share with you the movie Swept Up by Christmas which makes it’s premiere this Saturday night and I’ll be live tweeting during the movie! I hope you’ll join me in all of the fun!
I love Hallmark Christmas movies, they just add to the Christmas magic! They always seem to include some favorite Christmas tradition, a last Christmas wish or a second chance romance scenario. Most of all, they always remind me about my favorite part of Christmas – the being together part!
Swept Up by Christmas is no different, it’s deep in tradition and moments that will remind you of your own Christmases and family traditions, but it’s also got a sweet and unique story line that brings antique seller Gwen (played by Lindy Booth) together with Reed (played by Justin Bruening) as they clash over how to downsize a magnificent estate right before Christmas. As the two uncover the house’s treasures, they find a way to reconnect the reclusive owner with his own Christmases past.
The main cast in this film is wonderful, and a beautiful story unfolds as they unpack the storyline (along with the home’s treasures) as the owner of Hawthorne house and his gorgeous old estate set the tone for a romance to unfold.
Gwen is hired to decorate and appraise The Hawthorne House. She has fond memories of the Hawthorne home from Christmas as a child, and she especially remembers the annual Christmas Eve party). Together she and Reed, her ex-boyfriend who runs Dirt Force One, a commercial cleaning company that provides jobs for military veterans, take on the job of preparing the estate and in the process of course, so much more comes into play! Of course they clash when they have cleaner conflict due to their different management styles. As a relic hunter, Gwen tends to see a different side to the process than Reed does. As you can imagine, there are low odds that sparks will eventually fly between these two.
This movie has such a fun cast! Lindy Booth and Justin Bruening come together in this holiday movie with a Christmas themed romance that only Hallmark Channel can deliver.
In Swept Up by Christmas n antique dealer and a cleaner clash when downsizing a magnificent estate before Christmas. As they uncover the home’s treasures, they help reconnect the reclusive owner with his Christmas past.
Other cast members include Vlasta Vrana who plays Alan Hawthorne (the estate owner) along with Jillian Harris who plays Vanessa, and Holly Gauthier-Frankel who plays Isla Hawthorne.
This is a unique Christmas story brilliantly centered around the process of a prestigious auction house, an old and romanticized estate, the usually twists and turns of holidays movies: first love, childhood friend, Christmas tree gatherings, a sentimental gift … ALL of the things that create a movie that gives us each a Christmas recap of our own holiday memories – and that’s what holiday movies are really all about, right?
I also wanted to mention that this movie has a secondary romance as well. Joshua Cassidy (a three-time Paralympian) plays Mike on Swept Up By Christmas and has a little romance building with Vanessa that adds another small plot line to this movie!
We are huge fans of Hallmark movies, Disney Channel, and other outlets that bring to use the joy of the season through these types of movies.
