Best Moscow Mule Recipe

Cranberry Moscow Mule

Since we almost always celebrate New Year’s Eve as a family, this is a great holiday cocktail drink recipe. Not only is it easy, but you can simply make it a non-alcoholic beverage by omitting the vodka.

This drink is fun for holiday parties and has a wonderful cranberry flavor. It can be decorated more festive by adding either fresh cranberries or frozen cranberries and a fresh lime slice. Nothing beats the flavor combination of cranberry juice and lime. Such a great drink to celebrate the holidays with!

In years when we’ve not had ginger beer on hand we’ve used ginger ale instead. Honestly, for this drink to be a success, I highly recommend ginger beer. The ginger beer and lime combo is what makes this drink perfect.

Fill a mule glass with ice. I like our mugs to be totally filled with ice. Add the vodka and cranberry juice.

Top with ginger beer, enough to fill the cup. Garnish with lime and cranberries, if desired. Serve immediately.

If you really want the full Moscow Mule drink effect, you’ll want to serve this Cranberry Mule cocktail in copper mugs or glasses.

Moscow Mules should not be made ahead as the ginger beer will start to flatten (lose its bubbles) once opened.

To make a Kentucky mule, use bourbon instead of vodka.

To add a little “something extra” add 1/2 ounce of St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur. It helps enhance the earthiness of the cranberries.
