What to Expect at Disneyland in 2020
From seasonal celebrations to new rides, Disneyland has a lot in store for 2020. With the help of my friends at Get Away Today I have all the info you need to start planning your Disneyland 2020 vacation now.
Disneyland January 2020
- New Year’s Eve fireworks (weather permitting)
- The Holidays at the Disneyland Resort wrap up January 6, 2020
- Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens the brand-new ride, Rise of the Resistance
- Lunar New Year begins at the end of January
Disneyland February 2020
- Enjoy a couple of weeks of Lunar New Year celebrations
- Valentine’s Day overlays will appear mid-month
Disneyland March 2020
- The Disney Food and Wine Festival typically begins March 1 in Disney California Adventure Park
- Spring Break vacations begin for some schools
Disneyland April 2020
- Easter celebrations occur, included an egg hunt (limited dates)
- The Disney Food and Wine Festival continues (typically until the end of the month)
- Spring Break vacations begin for some schools
Disneyland May 2020
- Grad Nites are hosted on select nights
- A Marvel-themed land is projected to open phase 1 this year (with hopes it could be as soon as summer)
Disneyland June 2020
- Grad Nites continue on select nights
- Summer kicks off with a fireworks show (weather permitting)
- Fireworks continue on select evenings throughout summer
- Extended Park hours for summer
Disneyland July 2020
- Celebrate the Fourth of July with parades and fireworks
- Celebrate Disneyland’s birthday July 17
Disneyland August 2020
- Fireworks continue on select evenings throughout summer
- Extended Park hours continue for summer
- Summer break concludes for some schools
Disneyland September 2020
- Summer break concludes for most schools
- Halloween Time begins (typically mid-month)
- Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party (select nights during Halloween Time)

- Halloween Time continues until October 31

- Holidays at Disneyland Resort begins (typically mid-month)
- Various restaurants feature Thanksgiving-themed foods
Disneyland December 2020
- Holidays at Disneyland Resort continue (all month long)
- Festive Foods Marketplace offers kiosks with delicious Holiday food selections
