4th of July Patriotic Marshmallow Pops

4th of July Patriotic Marshmallow Pops

Oh how I love holidays and the festivities that go along with them! Today I’m sharing these fun 4th of July Patriotic Marshmallow Pops because they are super easy, super affordable and so much fun. Everything I think my kids have outgrown these silly recipes, I find that I’m wrong and this is a great one because my tween can make these all by herself and they add so much color and fun to our celebrations.

Obviously you can change up the colors and sprinkles to make these for just about any theme or celebration, but because 4th of July is right around the corner, we went with red, white and blue.

Easy Patriotic Mashmallow Pops

Marshmallow Kaboobs

How to make 4th of July Patriotic Marshmallow Pops

I love how easy these are to make, and I love even more that this is a great activity for kids to help you with. Since there is no baking involved, you could get them started by helping to melt the candy, and then leave the rest up to them! These treats would also pair well with my fireworks cupcakes as those are also a recipe that is super easy and great for little hands!

First of all, you are going to press four marshmallows onto a straw or treat stick with a twisting motion and then lay them on waxed paper.

In the microwave (or on stovetop), melt the candy melts according to package directions. Give special care not to overheat the candy, or it will be too thick. You can add 1 teaspoon of vegetable shortening or coconut oil to help thin the chocolate but do not add any other type of liquid as the candy will seize and harden.

blue drizzle on marshmallows

Once candy is melted, transfer it to a piping bag or zip-top freezer bag. Snip the corner of the bag and drizzle melted candy over the marshmallows. Before adding each new color, allow the previous color to set.

Repeat piping the candy melts over the marshmallows until all three colors are applied: red, blue, and white. Immediately after applying the last color (white is recommended) and before it sets, top with patriotic sprinkles.

Allow the marshmallows to rest on waxed paper until set before packaging or serving.

And how cute are these!!? My kids have always loved waving them around (which makes them perfect for outside treats, lol!) but they also can stand nicely in a vase on the table for a fun decoration item for guests to snack on. Kids LOVE these fun and favorite patriotic treats so you might even consider allowing kids to help decorate their own, which might make for a fun activity as well.

If you really wanted to get creative with these mashmallow pops, then you could also add gummy candies or colored marshmallows. That might be a really fun option if you do this as part of your celebration and have the kids created their own pops kabob style.

If you are looking for other fun 4th of July activities or treats, make sure to check out my recipe for patriotic brownies (also easy!) and also these fun 4th of July patriotic ribbon wands. Both are really great for little kids to make and enjoy and will be a fun addition to your holiday celebrations!

Cheers to a wonderful and safe 4th of July celebration and to great (and easy!) treats to celebrate with!
