Extra Day FREE at Disneyland

New Disneyland Updates for Spring and Summer

Do you have dreams of Disney travel within the next year? I’m always dreaming of Disney and currently there are two crazy awesome Disneyland Resort ticket specials going on that I wanted to share with you, along with upcoming 2019 Disneyland Events for Spring and Summer.

My two favorite offers are:

How excited are you about all that is happening in Disneyland for 2019? If you’re not excited, maybe it’s because you don’t yet know about everything! My friends at Get Away Today have the scoop on discounts and events you can enjoy this year if you’re planning to visit Disneyland, whether for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge or not.

Last month I shared everything that had been released about Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge up until that point; today there is so much more to explore when it comes to this entirely new land. Additionally, other attractions are up and running as of this month that you won’t want to miss either!

Spring Savings

If you can’t wait until summer to head to Disneyland and experience Star Wars Land, then take advantage of the spring savings from Get Away Today! For travel now until May 23, 2019*, you can still save up to $111 per ticket. Those savings are the deepest Get Away Today has ever offered! Even though Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will not yet be open during the eligible travel dates, there are other new things to do in Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park! *excluding blockout dates April 14 – 22, 2019

Jessie’s Critter Carousel in Pixar Pier

If you do use the spring savings offer to head to Disneyland before summer is in full swing, you can mosey on over to Disney California Adventure to check out Jessie’s new attraction. At Pixar Pier you’ll find Jessie’s Critter Carousel, filled with creatures inspired by Woody’s Roundup from Toy Story 2. Kids of all ages, and even adults too, can enjoy a leisurely ride on the Carousel to help build excitement for the upcoming release of the new Toy Story movie. To add to the experience, nearby is Senor Buzz’s Churro stand so you can have a tasty treat after riding Jessie’s Critter Carousel.

Mickey’s PhilharMagic

Also opening in Disney California Adventure a little later in April is Mickey’s PhilharMagic. This attraction has been entertaining guests for years at Walt Disney World in Florida and now it is coming to the west coast. The 3-D show allows guests to see what happens to Donald Duck when he touches Mickey’s conductor wand. Although Donald is just trying to prepare the orchestra for Mickey’s arrival, he finds himself in a bit of trouble. Go along with Donald on a 3D dream experience with nostalgic music throwbacks from “The Little Mermaid,” “Peter Pan” and “Aladdin” — just to name a few.

Extra Day Free

It’s okay if you’re not ready to travel during Get Away Today’s spring savings; you can still enjoy discounts on travel May 24 – December 31, 2019. When you purchase 5-day Park Hopper or 5-day 1-Park per Day Disneyland Tickets, you’ll get your fifth day free. With so much going on at Disneyland this spring and summer, you’ll love having five full days! The Extra Day Free savings will give you plenty of time to see what you want and also enjoy some time relaxing at the hotel pool.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

It seems every day there is new information about the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland. This isn’t just a new attraction or dining option in Disneyland. This 14 acre expansion in Disneyland is going to be an immersive experience for guests that will feel like being on another planet. The Outposts in Galaxy’s Edge will only serve food and offer merchandise that is authentic to the Star Wars franchise. Don’t expect to find any regular, Disney branded merchandise, but rather apparel that will allow you to fit in with either The Resistance or the First Order in Galaxy’s Edge. Cast Members in Galaxy’s Edge might not even know what a churro is! Get Away Today has shared a look into what they know about Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge which you can read about below.

In Galaxy’s Edge you will find experiences that not only make you feel like you’re part of the Star Wars story, but that will send you home with a one-of-a-kind souvenir. At Savi’s Workshop you can make a lightsaber that will definitely be a step up from what you find in retail stores, and at the Droid Depot you can actually build your very own droid sidekick to take home. No one is entirely sure what will be in the Creature Stall, but the best guess is that you’ll find plush characters and dolls for purchase.

Dining in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

When it comes to dining in Galaxy’s Edge, you might not even miss the lack of churros. There will be intergalactic food truck options with delicious dishes such as Braised Shaak Roast and Ronto Wraps and drinks like Blue Milk.

Don’t forget to climb aboard Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run to complete a mission in a galaxy far, far away. Each time you enjoy this ride, you’ll have a different experience based on whether you’re the pilot or a gunner.

Disney has ensured that no matter what you’re doing in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, you can always personalize the experience with the Play Disney Parks app. It will allow you to translate foreign transmissions, locate cargo in crates throughout the land and even hack into droids!
