Chocolate Covered Oreo Wreath Cookie
Aren’t these fun? Well guess what? These chocolate covered Oreo wreath cookies are also super (duper!) easy! They look so pretty on a plate and honestly, take just minutes to make!
This might also be a fun activity for a classroom or small group as there are so few ingredients and they are really easy. Plus, who doesn’t love Oreo cookies drenched in chocolate, right? My kids love to make chocolate covered Oreos, and these are just so festive!
Ingredients
1 (15.35 ounce) package of Oreo Cookies (we used Double Stuf Oreo Chocolate Sandwich Cookies.. because, why not!?)
2 (11 ounce) packages white chocolate chips
To decorate:
Green sparkling sugar
Red chocolate melts
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with waxed paper.
- Melt red candy coating according to package directions. Transfer melted candy to a decorating bag with a fine point tip.
- Working quickly, create multiple bow shapes from the melted red candy on the waxed paper. Allow to dry completely.
- Place contents of one bag white chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl. Heat on high for 30 seconds and stir. Repeat in 30-second increments, stirring each time, until completely melted. Do not overheat as the chocolate will seize and become unusable.
- Drop cookie into melted chocolate and turn to coat completely. Place cookie in a fork, tapping the fork gently against the side of the bowl, allowing excess chocolate to return to the bowl. If air bubbles form, pop them with a toothpick.
- Slide the coated cookie onto the baking sheet. Immediately decorate with green sugar sprinkles, using a clean piping tip to protect the middle of the “wreath.” Remove the piping quickly with a slight twist. Press bow into place.
- Allow cookie to set completely at room temperature or refrigerate for faster results. Store in an airtight container as room temperature.
In case you are looking for other Christmas wreath cookie ideas, I’ve shared two other Christmas wreath cookie variations in the past: my Christmas Cornflake Wreath Cookies recipe and my Rice Krispie Wreaths. I just think that wreath cookies add so much color and beauty to a platter of Christmas cookies, so depending on how much time you have and the ingredients that you have on hand, one of these should do the trick OR why not make them all!
