Free Ways to Save at Disneyland

Ways to save at Disneyland is probably the number one question that I’m asked about lately so I’m going to be sharing some of my favorite tips for saving on Disney travel in the next couple of weeks including today’s tips for FREE Ways to Save at Disneyland. We JUST returned from a Disneyland trip and not only did we have the best time, but we came in under budget AND even though we visited at a very busy time, our longest wait time for a ride was 20 minutes, no joke.

Make your trip to Disney even more enjoyable with these FREE ways to save at Disneyland!

Free Ways to Save at Disneyland

Traveling to the Disneyland Resort is always a magical time. However, it can become stressful when  trying to figure out how to budget for your trip or how to possibly get everything done. Because of this, I’ve teamed up with my friends at Get Away Today to give you five ways to save both time and money when you’re visiting the Disneyland Resort for FREE!

This way, you don’t have to worry about anything but having fun at “The Happiest Place on Earth.”

Use Mobile Ordering

If you were excited to learn about FastPasses, just wait until I tell you about this next one. Disneyland just released a brand-new update on May 29, 2018 called Mobile Ordering. At select restaurants, you can order delicious food directly from the official Disneyland Resort app on your phone. This means that you won’t have to stand in the hot sun to wait in a long line with anxious kiddos. All you need to do is download the Disneyland app, log into your Disney account (it’s free to sign up), click on the “My Plans” tab and select “Order Food.” From there, you’ll want to place your order and select a pick-up time. All you need to do is head over to the restaurant during your allotted time and “Check-in” on the app. This will notify the restaurant that you’re there and they will begin to start making your food. Once it’s done, you’re ready to pick up your treats and eats from the Mobile Ordering window! This time saver will let you get back to the rides and entertainment as fast as possible.

Free Stuff

Although it might be kind of pricey getting into the park, once you’re there, there is a lot of free stuff you can take advantage of! Celebrating a birthday, anniversary or even a first visit to the park? You can pick up a free celebration button at City Hall on Main Street U.S.A. or at any of the shops around Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. This is the perfect way to showcase your special day, whatever it may be.

Feeling hungry or parched? The Disneyland Resort is filled with spots that give out free samples. At any quick service location, you can ask for a free water cup. Whether you need a quick drink or want to refill your water bottle, this is a great way to stay hydrated. Additionally, you can get free bread samples from the Boudin Bakery in Disney California Adventure. In true San Francisco form, you’ll be able to snack on some of the best Sourdough bread while enjoying all of the fun. Plus if you’re looking for something sweet, head on over to the Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop. Here, you’ll be able to get a free piece of chocolate as you’re welcomed into the shop. While I can’t guarantee that the delectable chocolate smell won’t tempt you to buy some more, the free chocolate sample is a great way to satisfy your sweet tooth.

  1. I would add to the free samples section is there are water bottle filling stations throughout Disneyland. 1) Tomorrowland Terrice restaurant 2) Inside Red Rose Tavern, there are two of them 3) By the Mint Julep Bar

All are filtered water and easy to find. Not many people realize you can bring in your own water bottle and snacks. These things will also help you save some money.

  2. Yes!! Love these tips! I have 3 more posts coming out in this series and will be mentioning more things like this, especially the snacks. That can be such a huge way to save because eating in the park can be SO spendy!! Thanks Jessica!
