We are so excited to share this new James Patterson book with you. It’s great for summer reading AND we especially love that it deals with a very important topic: bullying. Expressed through humor and storytelling that kids can relate to, this book is great for boys and girls of all ages, but specifically great for boys ages 9-12. My daughter is currently reading this book and loving it, but after reading some of it myself, I can definitely see where this one would be popular with young boys too.
David and his best friend Michael were tagged with awful nicknames way back in preschool when everyone did silly things. Fast-forward to seventh grade: “Pottymouth” and “Stoopid” are still stuck with the names–and everyone in school, including the teachers and their principal, believe the labels are true.
So how do they go about changing everyone’s minds? By turning their misery into megastardom on TV, of course! And this important story delivers more than just laughs–it shows that the worst bullying doesn’t have to be physical…and that things will get better. A great conversation starter for parents to read alongside their kids!
The anti-bullying message in this book is so important and I think this is a really neat way to get talking to kids about bullying and different ways to not only diffuse any type of bullying, but to help your kids to be champions for the underdog and to reach out to help kids that they might see struggling with bullying type situations.
This book is in stores NOW and would be a great selection for summer reading! We are huge fans of books by James Patterson and love sharing his new releases.

Bullying is something we discuss often. I always remind them to speak up if they see something that isn’t right.
