Ka-chow!! I’m Headed to Sonoma Raceway for #CARS3Event and MORE!
I am so exited to share with you that next week I will be headed to San Francisco for a couple of fun days with my friends from Disney! The event centers around Disney Pixar and their upcoming new movie CARS 3 but also includes several other awesome adventures!
I think that I am MOST excited about this journey because it involves one of my truest and oldest loves: racing. And of course, Lightning McQueen. I can still hear my son’s little toddler voice as he used to call out the names of all his favorite CARS racers, and oh how he loved the “crashin!!”…. and most of all, he loved Lightning McQueen, Ka-chow!
Press Day at Sonoma Raceway
This experience will include a press day at Sonoma Raceway where we will attend filmmaker presentations and interviews with the people behind this movie including Director Brian Fee, Producer Kevin Reher and Co-Producer Andrea Warren.
We will also learn about the history of stock car racing, including the evolution of car design, stories of legend drivers and more and some of this will be presented by Jay Ward (Creative Director) & will even include an interview with Ray Evernham (Former Crew Chief for Hendrick Motorsports). So exciting!
A Lap Around Sonoma Raceway
Here’s one thing that you might not know about me. I have actually spent quite a bit of time at race tracks and have always enjoyed the sport. When I found out about this trip, I dug up some old photos from my younger years and my kids got the biggest kick out of them!
Living where I do in Idaho, I don’t get to the races as much as I used to, so this opportunity is really exciting for me. A love for NASCAR is something that I have shared with my children since they were very young, so this third CARS movie is something that we are very excited about.
We are going to be able to tour the garage area and even have a little pit stop training BUT I think the part that I am MOST excited about is the fact that we are going to get the chance to take a spin around the track in a race car. It’s been quite awhile since I have been in a race car, but it’s something that I would do any day of the week, there is NOTHING quite like it.
Official CARS 3 Trailer
Here’s the official teaser trailer for CARS 3… doesn’t it look amazing?
Disneynature Born in China
I’m super thrilled to share that we will be screening the Disneynature film BORN IN CHINA (which opens in theatres on 4/21)! I can’t wait, I feel like I have been wanting to see this movie forever. Here’s a fun trailer to introduce you to Ya Ya and Mei Mei who are two of the movie’s stars:
The Toy Box
Part of this experience will include learning more about Pixar in a Box followed by a special screening of the series premiere episode of “The Toy Box,” the ultimate toy-competition series, which will provide talented designers with the chance of a lifetime: an opportunity to bring their toy concept to life with industry-giant Mattel and to the shelves of Toys ”R” Us the day after the series finale. Inventors present their toy concepts to a group of mentors. One such mentor, Jen Tan who is the Pixar Creative Director of Consumer Products will be available to us for an exclusive Q&A after the screening. Let me know if you have any questions for her!
The eight-episode series hosted by Eric Stonestreet (“Modern Family”) premieres on Friday, April 7th at 8/7c on ABC.
Disney Pixar‘s LOU
We will also be getting a behind the scenes peek at Disney Pixar‘s LOU which is a short film debuting in theatres in front of CARS 3 on 6/16/17. I am obsessed with shorts, so I can’t wait to see this one. They are always SO creative and bring so much to the screen in such a “short” time frame. They are true mini masterpieces!
Follow along March 27 – 29!
