We saw the trailer for this film on the big screen yesterday while we were in the theater getting ready to watch Secret Lives of Pets (so cute!). The more that I see about this film, the more excited that I am for it. First of all: Robert Redford. Second of all – I welcome any feel good family story, especially right now. Third, it really takes me back to my childhood and my memories of seeing the original Pete’s Dragon. I remember watching it in the gym in elementary school and then I remember singing the songs from the movie in music class. I recently watched the original Pete’s Dragon with my kids and they got a kick out of, and we are very excited to see Disney’s latest version!

The film, which is a reimagining of Disney’s cherished family film, stars Bryce Dallas Howard, Oakes Fegley, Wes Bentley, Karl Urban, Oona Laurence and Robert Redford and is directed by David Lowery, opens nationwide on August 12th!
