Easy Jalapeno Poppers Recipe
We picked jalapeno peppers in the garden today which reminded me of this easy Jalapeno Poppers recipe that I have been meaning to share with all of you.
These are SO easy to make that’s almost hard to even call this a recipe, but they are also always a hit, so file this one under easy recipes because that’s what it is: SO easy!
Ingredients for making Jalapeno Poppers
Fresh Jalapeño Peppers
Whipped Cream Cheese
Shredded Cheddar Cheese
Crumbled Bacon (a fresh slice of bacon is best, but packaged bacon bits works too)
How to make Jalapeno Poppers
Preheat over to 350 degrees F.
The first step is to wash and half your fresh jalapenos lengthwise and remove seeds.
Spoon cream cheese into the cavity of each jalapeno half, sprinkle pepper halves and cream cheese filling with shredded cheddar cheese and then top with bacon sprinkles.
Place on cookie sheet (use parchment paper underneath if you like) and cook for about 10 minutes or until cheeses are melty and bubbly and the tops are golden brown. *I like ours a bit golden, so I tend to go on the longer side.
Serve as an appetizer or as a side.
Notes: I actually like to make this jalapeño poppers recipe ahead of time in bigger batches and then store them in the fridge and cook them up during the week as we need them (they last about 4 days if they are wrapped nicely and kept refrigerated).
Depending on whether or not you used mild peppers, medium heat or hot peppers – you might wear gloves to clean, cut and fill your homemade jalapeno poppers. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve made the mistake of rubbing my face or eyes after working with halved jalapeños – it’s no bueno, for sure as jalapeño juice can really be a party pooper!
My family enjoys dipping these in ranch dressing, so I will usually have that on hand for dipping but you might also consider sour cream, lime juice or even tiny sliced green onions on top. If your guests like spicy food then you might also consider some type of hot sauce. I like a little spice but find no good reason to add additional heat, but my hubby definitely disagrees!
These make for a wonderful party appetizer for big gatherings, game day treats and are a great item to bring to potlucks or picnics. They are also perfect for football season and/or tailgate parties, these bacon jalapeno poppers are one of the best appetizer recipes and a true favorite whenever I bring them to events. It might be a toss up between my artichoke dip recipe, so quite often – I’ll bring both these stuffed jalapeños and my homemade artichoke dip. They also compliment each other nicely and are both easy appetizer recipes.
When not serving, store in an airtight container or in aluminum foil. These don’t keep too long, so I would eat your jalapenos poppers in a timely manner (never a problem around here – this is a popular appetizer that never lasts long with my crowd!

I loved them. But cooking for ten minutes? Not even close. I had them in the oven for 30 and the cheese still wasn’t bubbly. Get it right
