Sweet Lemon Butter
Sweet Lemon Butter can be a delicious, unexpected condiment on your table and it makes a great topping for muffins, breads, or even ice cream!
We started making this Sweet Lemon Butter a few years ago after a friend shared this recipe with me, and I can’t tell you how often my hubby reminds me to make it. It works for so many things and adds just the right touch to any warm bread and my hubby is especially fond of it on dessert!
Sweet Lemon Butter Recipe
- 1/3 cup Sugar
- 1 Tablespoon Cornstarch (potato starch will work as well)
- ½ cup Water
- 1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
- 1 Tablespoon Butter
In a saucepan on the stovetop, whisk together the sugar, cornstarch, water, and lemon juice until the mixture is not lumpy. Cook over a low to medium heat and stir occasionally until the mixture begins to thicken. Stir constantly once the mixture is thickening. Remove from heat when the sauce is the consistency you desire.
