I love the idea of using this to decorate your own nursery OR this would also make a wonderful and very affordable gift as I have provided you with the FREE Star Template Printable so all that you will need to do is find a frame! I love to hunt for frames at thrift shops and garage sales or you might even try refinishing an old frame that you no longer use.
Twinkle Twinkle Star Art Work for Nursery
Materials:
- 8×10 frame
- Chalkboard Printable, printed and cut to 8×10 (White Printable or Ivory Printable)
- Yarn of your choice –My color was Pearls by Lion Brand Homespun
- Star Template Printable
- Cardboard or Stiff Card Stock
- Hot Glue
- Scissors
Directions:
Cut the star template out and trace on to your cardboard. Cut out the cardboard star.
Wrap yarn around the center of the cardboard star twice and glue to hold in place. Begin to wrap each star point, wrap about four times and affix (on back) with hot glue, continue another 4 wraps of yard and glue again. This will prevent the yarn from sliding up to the narrow point of the star. When finished, move onto the next point and repeat until all five star points are covered.
To fill in the center, wrap the yarn around about three times and switch directions. Continue switching directions every three wraps to avoid the center bulking up too much. When you are happy with your wrapping, cut yarn and glue on the back with hot glue.
Place your printable in the frame. Place the image in front of the glass and place on a flat surface. Position your finished star and hot glue into place.
Hang or display as desired. If you are giving this as a gift you might also consider adding the baby’s name to a tag hanging off the star or you might also attach the birth announcement to the back.
Wouldn’t this make a great gift? Who would you give this Twinkle Twinkle Art Work for Nursery to?
