There seem to be two things in our home that we can’t get enough of. Stuffed animals (heaven help us!) and books. We also get pretty attached to both of them, so the two things that we are always making room for are of course: stuffed animals and books. I have to say though, I can’t complain. They both bring us joy through imagination and learning. My daughter loves to read to her stuffies, and they seem to really enjoy story time as well.
In the evenings, my kids tend to settle into bed with books while my husband and I finish up our evening routines. When we tuck them in, we then catch up on story time and some nights we all jump in bed together to read our current family chapter book.
I love this Scholastic reading challenge because it will really help us to make the time to read together intentionally each night and by tracking our reading, we can show our kids just how important this time spent reading together is.
Sometimes, picking out your favorite book is the hardest part! I try to encourage my kids to read a variety of books. Sometimes they surprise themselves by picking a book that they might not normally choose.
One thing that I have always loved about Scholastic books is that there is literally something for everyone in these book orders AND ordering supports the school and classrooms. Three cheers for reading!!
We have long been fans of both reading AND Scholastic books so I am thrilled to be partnering with Scholastic to bring you this 20 for 20 Family Reading Challenge!
