FROZEN Themed Cookies: Snowball Cookies

Ok, actually they are Russian Tea Cookies but my kids have always called them Snowball Cookies, and they are not only easy to make, but delicious! As you can imagine, they would also fit in perfectly with any FROZEN themed cookies or party favors that you might be using. In fact, they are wonderful for any type of holiday gathering because of their wintery look!

Snowball Cookies are one of our favorite Christmas Cookies. Also known as Russian tea cookies, they are sure to become a family favorite!

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup slightly softened Butter
  • ½ cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • Pinch of Salt
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • Additional Powdered Sugar and Flour

Snowball Cookies 1In a bowl, mix together the butter and powdered sugar until smooth. Add in the vanilla extract and salt and mix until combined. Add in the flour, if the mixture seems too sticky, add in ¼ to ½ cup more flour. Mix the batter until smooth.

Snowball Cookies 2Create small balls with the batter about 1 inch round. Place balls back in the bowl and place the dough balls in the refrigerator for at least an hour.

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Remove the balls from the fridge and place on a non-stick cookie sheet. Bake for 12 minutes. While the cookies are still warm, roll the baked balls in powdered sugar. Let the cookies cool and enjoy!

    I can think of about 6 ways to vary them, these are the best kind of recipes. I am very allergic to chocolate and food colouring. so a delicious pretty cookie is certainly appreciated.
