If you will love technology, or actually — even if you are a bit intimidated by it, then make sure to stop into Best Buy to check out The Intel Experience. The Intel Experience is a new section of the store that is made specifically to blow your mind 🙂
It’s pretty amazing, and it’s free. To me, it felt like a visit to the science center or a museum, so it’s definitely worth getting out to see. I also LOVE that they have staff on hand to explain all of the mind blowing Intel technology to you.
Intel Technology Experience shows customers the power of Intel: the technology behind these new, innovative activities is the same power behind the devices like tablets and laptops we love and rely on every day. Customers can build and print their own 3D robot, show off their racing skills on Mars in an augmented reality world, master beats and remix tracks by Ne-Yo as a digital DJ, and check out the latest PC and tablet devices powered by Intel processors.
They have the area staffed by specially trained Best Buy Blue Shirts to answer questions and help customers make the most of each area within the experience.
My kids had a ball, while my jaw was on the ground most of the time. Funny how it doesn’t phase them that you can virtually drive a vehicle on a mock planet in a store or print out a 3-d robot. Here is a photo of my son totally captivated by the Mars Rover interactive display:
I think that we were all most excited about the 3D printer. WOW! Have you seen these things? This printer literally works in partnership with the intel software to print your creation in 3D using a plastic material that it literally melts into the shape of your creation. What I found most shocking is that these printers run about $1,000 and the cartridges are about $40. Doesn’t that seem affordable for something that is printing in 3D?
My daughter loved playing around on the different computers that they had available, and you know what? I love that she is curious and excited about technology! It is amazing to watch how quickly their little minds pick up on how things works, which buttons to push and how to navigate the programs.
I love that Best Buy is sharing this with all of us and even better, I love that they have educated their store employees to be right there, on hand to answer questions and allow customers to actually use the products and see first hand how far this technology has come!
Each season, Intel will refresh the venues with a new array of technology experiences. We will definitely be stopping back in to see what they share next!
