How to make Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies

In a medium bowl, mix together the butter, sugars, vanilla, and egg. Whip until creamy.

Add in the flour and salt. Add the baking soda last and make sure to mix all ingredients well.

Fold in the chocolate chips and the cocoa powder.

Make sure the cocoa powder is incorporated well.

Drop the cookie dough by tablespoonful onto a greased cookie sheet.

Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes or until cookies start to turn slightly brown.

Cool after baking and enjoy!

These cookies will be crispy…. which according to my son, is what makes them the very.best.cookies.ever! (again, these pair perfectly with a nice tall glass of cold milk!)

cookies and milk

The key to a good chocolate chip cookie is getting them out of the oven right as they begin to turn golden. Since these have added chocolate, they will already be darker than most, so watch them closely. If you like a crispy cookie, you can let them go a little longer.

My boys love to dip their cookies in milk, so we like these a bit on the crispy side, but they’ll also harden a bit over the next day or two, if they last that long!
