Paper Bag Turkey Craft for Kids

Here’s a fun Thanksgiving craft idea for the littles! Have them make this easy Thanksgiving turkey paper bag craft – they’ll love it! 

You only need a few supplies, so it’s super affordable and this is a craft that works for all skill levels.

You could even have the bigger kids help the littles make these, while you get some time in the kitchen preparing your holiday meal! 

Plus, one of my favorite things about this Thanksgiving turkey craft for kids is that the paper bag serves as a treat holder, so these would make darling place setting gifts for your holiday guests, Thanksgiving party favors or also a fun way to hand out classroom treats for your classroom harvest feast or festival! 

Supplies for Thanksgiving Turkey Paper Bag Craft Project

What You Need to Make Paper Bag Thanksgiving Turkeys

Paper lunch sack
Red, yellow, green, tan, and orange felt
Large googly eyes
Orange card stock
Yellow ribbon
Candy corn or fall candy

Supplies for Turkey Paper Bag Craft Project

How to make Thanksgiving Paper Bag Turkey Treat Bags

Fill your bag up 1/4 way with candy and tie the top of the bag off with a piece of ribbon. The candy in the bag will also give him weight so he’ll sit nicely on his little turkey tush!

Cut the following pieces:
One tan turkey head with a neck, shaped like an upside down vase
One feather from each piece of felt about 6 to 8 inches in length
One large yellow triangle
One small red wattle
Two small yellow feet

Now cut 2 strips from your card stock 1″ x 12″, fold up like an accordion, and glue one yellow foot to the bottom of each piece.

Now glue your two eyes, beak, and wattle to the turkey head and glue the head to the top of the bag.

Glue the legs to the bottom of the bag so they hang like an accordion.

Then cut fringe on each side of the feathers and glue them to the back of the bag.

Thanksgiving Turkey Paper Bag Craft

Gobble! Gobble! This fun Thanksgiving Turkey made from a paper bag will be a hit with little ones and is a great activity to help them work on their cutting and pasting skills and also a fun way to make a Thanksgiving treat bag! These cute paper bag turkeys make fun holiday and seasonal decor and this is also a wonderful activity to keep littles busy while you cook the Thanksgiving turkey!

Materials

  • Paper lunch sack
  • Red, yellow, green, tan, and orange felt
  • Large googly eyes
  • Orange card stockYellow ribbo
  • Candy corn or fall candy

Tools

  • Glue gun or glue
  • Scissors

Instructions

    Fill your bag up 1/4 way with candy and tie the top of the bag off with a piece of ribbon.
