Wendy says Definitely meats – we usually eat vegetarian at home, so when i attempt to cook meat i always freak out about whether it’s under or over cooked.
A couple of years ago, I shared with you this awesome cookbook John McLemore’s “Dadgum That’s Good! It’s been a favorite of ours since I reviewed it way back then, and I am so excited to have received a copy of second cookbook, Dadgum That’s Good, Too! We love his recipes because they are easy to follow and they are, for lack of a better word, just down right manly and good, no fluffy stuff, just really dadgum good cookin’!
About Dadgum That’s Good, Too!: With equal parts of Southern charm and tenacity, John McLemore has traveled the world over to show folks how to share the experience of making dadgum good food together at home. His best-selling cookbook, Dadgum, That s Good! TM, is still the resource for kickbutt recipes for smoking, grilling, frying, steaming and boiling. In Dadgum, That s Good, Too TM, John brings even more mouthwatering food to the table, and introduces us to the heartbeat of his home his family and friends. Detailed smoking and grilling charts, signature brine and seasoning recipes, more tips, more stories, and even more dadgum good food make Dadgum, That s Good, Too! TM a must-have resource. You ll love meeting the folks who have influenced John s cooking and his life. With over 125 new recipes for smoking, grilling and frying, there s something for everyone.
I actually got to meet John McLemore at a function at BlogHer Food and it was one of the highlights of my trip. Such a nice (and tall!) guy … and I just got the biggest kick out of meeting him because I have seen his face in my kitchen everyday for the past couple of years because his cookbook it literally on the shelf by my stove! My husband loves this book because it has a lot of tips and ideas for smoking and grilling food, which we do a lot of. He includes a lot of detailed info (temp settings, tips and charts) and I think this type of info really helps to perfect cooking skills more than the average plain old recipe book. Needless to say, we are huge fans!
