My Adventures with P&G

As you might know, Procter & Gamble is gearing up for their sponsorship of the 2012 London Olympics and their excitement is a bit contagious.

If you haven’t yet seen their commercials (sob!), check out this one on YouTube.

I love these commercials and have yet to get through one without big ol’ Mom tears, lol!

Last week, I had the awesome opportunity to travel back to Cincinnati, Ohio to join a few fellow bloggers in visiting the P&G Headquarters and participating in some fun events that they had planned for us.

It is no secret that Procter & Gamble is one of my favorite companies.

They have so many brands that I love, and aside from using them daily in my home, I also talk about them quite frequently on the blog. P&G is a company that I am very fond of not only because of the quality of their products, but also because of the way that they interact with their consumers.

They understand the importance and connection between brands and consumers, and I think that speaks volumes about the passion behind the products.

I got to see first hand some of this passion as I attended a few events in which we were able to work closely with researchers and brand representatives who work on specific product teams.

Cooking with Nick Lachey

Our first, and possibly most (surprising) and exciting event was a cooking adventure with surprise guest Nick Lachey.

It was a very down to earth morning of cooking, chatting and trying our hand at some pretty gourmet dishes. One of my favorite brands, Bounty, was also right there with us as we cleaned up our kitchen mess 🙂

Pictured above: Preparing lunch with Nick and fellow blogger and friend Corrie, from Centsable Momma, and last photo, me eating lunch with Nick.

The day continued with a fun Febreze Car Vent Clips presentation where we actually got to sit in a HOT car filled with smelly things like kids sneakers, pizza, french fries, etc…and I have to tell you, it was a pretty cool test!

I already had this product on my “favorites” list, but after getting a peek further into their research and development, I am so impressed with the passion that goes into products like this.

Day two included a trip to P&G headquarters (pictured above) and this was probably my favorite part of the trip.

We got to see the P&G archives, which included a rich history of the products and brands owned by P&G and the origin of the company itself. It’s actually quite a interesting story, and you can read more here.

P&G Archives: P&G Products Through The Years

One of my favorite parts about the archives was seeing the evolution of the P&G products:

Many products come and go, but seeing the strength and longevity of some of these brands and products, really made me realize how survival of the fittest comes into play with consumer products.

Good products last. Marketing 101 tells us this, but performance proves it, and I loved seeing how history unfolds all of this right before our eyes. The history of P&G is a rich one, and I am so thankful that I was able to witness it first hand!

Tampax and Always Products

The last presentation that we attended was a round table discussion and demonstration from a team that works on the P&G feminine care products, including Tampax and the Always Radiant line.

This was actually a very informative session, and I have to say, another impressive glimpse into the care and passion that goes into making products that make our everyday lives easier.

I love the concept behind this new line, and I was also so impressed with their extensive research and care about these products and the consumers who use them.

I can honestly say that I had never considered what research and development might go into such products, but I can tell you that I have now seen first hand the people that actually really care about these products, and care about constantly improving them for consumers.

Overall, this was such a neat trip and I am so thankful to have been a part of it. I enjoyed spending time with fellow bloggers and friends. . . and as always, keep an eye out for more fun P&G product giveaways and posts!!

If you are a fan of P&G like I am, I highly recommend that you follow them on facebook, it’s a great way to keep up on all of the latest promotions and happenings from their company!

Thanks to my friends at P&G for your hospitality and for this awesome opportunity. Thanks also to my fellow bloggers and  friends who made this trip special and memorable!
