Java Chip Frappuccino Recipe Notes

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Servings: 1

This drink recipe is best served as soon as it’s made– I don’t recommend making it in advance.

You can adjust the amount of ice you use depending on how thick you like your Frappuccino. I used 1.5 cups of ice but use anywhere from 1-2 cups depending on how thick you like your Frappuccino.

I like to use whole milk or 2% for these drinks but you can use skim milk if you like. If you prefer a strong coffee flavor, make sure to use a darker blend of coffee or a strong shot of espresso. The taste of chocolate is essential to this drink and if you want a more dramatic frap flavor, you might consider going with a dark chocolate or mocha sauce topping. To do this, I’d put your heavy whipping cream on the top, and then drizzle chocolate over the top for a most fabulous copycat version of a Starbucks Java Chip Frappuccino!

How to Serve Your Java Chip Frappuccino

Serve your homemade Java Chip Frap drinks in tall glasses – there is nothing better than an iced coffee on a hot day, and this blended version of an icy java beverage will provide endless java joy for all coffee fans!

Speaking of favorite things for Starbucks coffee fans – did you ever try the Starbucks Java Chip Frappuccino ice cream? I believe it was discontinued, but oh my goodness it was amazing! So even though you can’t get Starbucks ice cream anymore, this homemade version of Starbucks Java Chip Frappuccino might just be the next best thing!!

Java Chip Frap Toppings

If you were to order this in a Starbucks, you would order a Java Chip Frap and this is pretty much what they would make you. This drink comes with or without whipped topping (I’m a “hold the whip” kinda coffee girl) but if you make a Java Chip Frap at home, you can get creative. We like to sprinkle ground java chips on top for a special fancy look!

Java Chips

What are Java Chips you ask? Java chips are the a coffee lovers dream! As mentioned above, these espresso chips made by Nestle Toll House and they are amazing! I actually use them in my homemade banana bread recipes and several of my cookie recipes. If you love coffee, these yummy chips are a must add to your pantry!
