WinnerWinnerWinesdayWinner, Winner, WINesday #4:  Raise.com Site Review + $50 Olive Garden Gift Card Giveaway

gift cards

As someone who spends a LOT of time looking for deals, sharing deals, and sometimes even creating deals, I have become totally obsessed with  Raise.com. The concept is so great .. buying (and selling) gift cards, at discounted prices. It only makes sense to buy these cards to maximize your savings. For instance, right now Raise is offering every member a $5 off coupon for your order over $50 with code RAISE5. They have $100 Starbucks gift cards on the site priced at $85, and they would be only $80 after coupon code. As an avid Starbucks drinker (love!) I have never before seen a way to save $20 on Starbucks drinks and/or gifts. . . until now :)

starbucksOn the Raise marketplace, you can buy gift cards online at a discount price to stores like Kohl’s, Macy’s, Walmart, Target and so many more. They make it easy to search for your favorite brand, and you can organize the gift cards by price, discount, and value to find the best deal. They offer both physical gift cards for you to shop in stores as well as electronic cards for you to shop online. And I really love that for immediate shopping and/or gift giving, you can even print eGift cards for certain stores.

Do you like to eat out? (this mama does!) Raise.com also has discounted restaurant gift cards to some of my favorite restaurants, and if I can purchase gift cards at a discount, then I am already feeling better about eating out, especially since we usually only go out on nights when we can find a sale, or kid’s eat free event. One of my favorite places to eat is Olive Garden, and right now you find find discounted Olive Garden gift cards as well as many other great restaurants like Red Lobster, Boston Market, Panera Bread, and many more!

SELL! Along with buying gift cards, make sure you check out Raise to sell gift cards for cash! I cleared out our “coupon/gift card” drawer before the holidays and sold several gift cards and was very happy with the process. I did need the help of customer service at one point, and I was really impressed with how quickly they tackled my issue! I think that Raise.com is just one more awesome tool for those of us that love to shop and save online!

Don’t Forget: Save $5.00 off of $50: On top of the already discounted gift cards, Raise is offering every member a $5 off coupon for your order over $50 with code RAISE5!

CouponTrade = Turn Your Gift Cards Into Holiday Spending Cash

*HOT*  $10 off of a $100 purchase!! For ONE DAY ONLY (Black Friday, November 23rd, 2012) You can get $10 off of your $100 order at CouponTrade when you use coupon code BLACKFRIDAY at checkout…this is a crazy good deal because it means that you are starting out with more money on the card than you spent! Great for gift giving AND also for stretching your shopping bucks further!!

Need some extra holiday spending cash?

I recently shared with you one of my new favorite sites, CouponTrade. They are an awesome resource for buying AND selling gift cards.   If you do any shopping at all (helloooooooo!) then you need to check this site out! They have a huge selection of gift cards for you to purchase at a discounted price and you can also SELL your unwanted gift cards.

To test all of this out, I recently sold a few gift cards of my own, one of which I mentioned to you last week, was a gift card that I had won in a raffle, for a restaurant that we don’t even have in my state, so I wasn’t too sad to see it go, but I was thrilled at the possibility of getting cash for it. My card sold within 8 hours! Upon learning that my card has sold for the price that I was asking (I sold a $35 gift card for $33)I was given the opportunity to select either a check or paypal payment OR I was also offered my payment in the form of an Amazon gift card. As you know, I’m all about Amazon…so I selected this option and after fees, was given an Amazon gift card in the amount $28.71 within 24 hours of selling my card.

The details on listing cards: You will be charged $1.75 for listing a physical card, and $0.99 for an electronic card and CouponTrade does take 10% of the sale of your card and that is separate than the listing fees, and I highly suggest choosing an Amazon gift card or check to avoid paypal fees…but overall a smokin’ deal if you would rather have money in your pocket than unused gift cards taking up space in the drawers.

I am going to SAVE my money and see what gift cards I can purchase at a discount. I spotted, but missed out on a Norstrom’s gift card (you have to watch for those, they go fasssst! I have also spotted several Disney Store gift cards, there was on last week that was a $100 Disney Store gift card and it sold for $75!! (would have been even less with my 5% off coupon code, see below!) That kind of saving is crazy because it puts you ahead of the money saving game literally before you even start!

This is so fun, and SO easy!! Clean out those junk drawers and wallets and head on over to CouponTrade to see what you can get for any gift cards that you are not using, and let me know how it goes!

I am so excited to share another wonderful way to earn extra money by shopping online, it’s called Sears Personal Shopper. I recently shared with you the Sears Shop Your Way Rewards program, and how this program rewards you with bonus points both in-store and online at Sears, Kmart and Lands’ End stores! If you shop at any of these stores, then signing up for rewards is a NO brainer. I am pretty excited because I have only used my rewards program twice, and already I have earned money to spend!

Sears has another similar program that I want to share with you, as I think it will come in really handy paired with their Shop Your Way Rewards program…   it’s called the Personal Shopper program, and if you do any online shopping at all (duh!) then you basically become an online shopper and sharer of great deals for your friends and family…and get this, you earn commission in the process! This is what I like to call a win/win because the deals that you share will most likely be “great” deals…and you will be rewarded which helping others with their shopping!

How to get started? First, sign up to become a Personal Shopper.  Then you can go into your account and recommend your favorite items through your Personal Shopper homepage, sharing deals from Sears, Kmart, mygofer, Craftsman®, Lands’ End and Sears Outlet.  Add your friends as “clients” and when they  sign up as your client (they must have a Shop Your Way Rewards account) and make qualifying purchases from your recommendations using their Shop Your Way Rewards number, you earn 1% of the qualifying amount.

I love how easy this program is to use, and they make it really easy to share with family and friends. They pay you monthly, when your earnings get to $20 or more.

Online shopping and savings is really about putting together a bunch of small coupon codes, cash back sites, rewards programs, etc together to create one LARGE savings and overall benefit for YOU as the online shopping. I am am a huge fan of rewards programs because they all contribute to my overall online shopping and saving success! Plus…you are shopping online anyway, right? So why not share the love and earn a little extra for yourself ;)

I love all of the things that come with fall, the change in weather, change in leaf colors and the change in home decor! We pull out the cobwebs, scarecrows and pumpkins and turn this old house into a festive Halloween celebration.

I recently discovered that I can shop online at Kmart and then pick up my items right at my local Kmart, which saves me on shipping. This came in very handy since I used the Kmart Kreator to help inspire the ideas for my daughter’s halloween costume! If you are still struggling with a halloween costume idea, then you should try this out, it’s so fun! (My kids wanted to do it over, and over and over! Just head on over to the Kmart Kreator and start by selection your child’s costume theme:

The kids had a ball seeing themselves in so many different costumes, and it actually helped us to narrow down our ideas a bit. My son has known for almost a year what he was going to be, so there was no changing his mind, however, my daughter loved the idea of getting to peek at all of her “princess” options. And I love that I am now able to swing by Kmart to pick up the costume parts that we ordered for her, even better…I was able to use my Shop Your Way membership(I told you about this a few days ago, it’s a great rewards program!) to earn points on my purchases!

Let me know what you end up creating… and Happy Fall, Y’all!

Using Kmart’s Kreator is helping me create a fun and memorable Halloween for my family. Try it for yourself! Find all your Halloween needs at Kmart’s Halloween Shop.

Shop Your Way Reward Points from Sears

by Keri Lyn on October 11, 2012

in Site Review

I am a big fan of rewards programs, especially when they reward me for things that I love to do … like shopping! Sears has a great program called Shop Your Way which is a rewards program that rewards you with bonus points both in-store and online at Sears, Kmart and Lands’ End stores! If you shop at any of these stores, then signing up for rewards is a NO brainer.

About Shop Your Way: It’s a free program that rewards their best customers. As a Shop Your Way Rewards Member, you earn points when you shop at Sears, Kmart, Lands’ End, the great indoors, Sears Auto Centers, mygofer Sears Home Services, and Kmart Pharmacy. Then you redeem those points online or in store at those same places, except Sears Home Services and Kmart Pharmacy. The more you shop, the faster your points and special benefits pile up. It’s a simple, fun and exciting way to shop.

Sign up today and let the savings begin! You will be able to track your earnings online and use your bonus points towards purchases whenever you want to. You will earn about 10 points per dollar, and you will even be able to see (before you buy!) how many points that you will earn for each purchase. Let them build up and put them towards something that you have been wanting!

And best of all, it’s FREE (as all great rewards programs should be!) So you can shop smart and earn bonus rewards right on top of the everyday savings that you work so hard to achieve! It’s a win/win program for folks like you and I who love to maximize our savings (and earnings!) while we shop!

I am so excited to share with you YET ANOTHER awesome way to save (and even earn!) money online.

With the holidays just around the corner, now is the time to start getting your budget in order, and planning for what you will spend, who you will be buying for and getting a feel for what your budget is going to look like. I start to do things right now to minimize the stress that come with the holidays.

First of all, I am clearing my house of extra clutter that we don’t need anymore. Getting rid of old toys to make room for the new. If things are worthy of selling, I will pop them up on craigslist (I have even been selling some things on this new local facebook garage sale group that I have recently discovered). Anyway, I am stashing the extra money from the items that I have sold into my “holiday spending stash”.

This is where CouponTrade comes in, and I am so excited to tell you about it!! I think it is brilliant to clear out the clutter before the holidays (make room for the new!) but also make some extra money in doing so! Along with extra bikes, toys, furniture and clothing that you might have to sell, if you are like me…then you might also have some extra gift cards taking up space in your drawers, glove box, wallet, etc. Well guess what? There is a way to turn those into cash as well, and I can’t wait to tell you about it!

My friend Karen, over at KouponKaren, shared yesterday about how she cleared out some gift cards that she wasn’t going to use by SELLING them on the CouponTrade website…yes, she listed a gift card that she had no use for and is going to sell it for cash (paypal) … sweet, right?

Now get this: you can also BUY gift cards at CouponTrade, and even better, you can buy them at a discounted rate because other people, like Karen are selling them and they set their own price depending on how anxious they are to get rid of them.

I am all about getting people what they want for the holidays … so gift cards are often on my list because I love to see people get what they really want for themselves. You can go to CouponTrade right now and see a wonderful selection of gift cards that people have for sale, in fact, I just talked to Karen and her gift card sold in less than 24 hours, and she will soon have the money in her paypal account to buy something that she really wants!

Isn’t this an awesome site? For example: before coupons or anything, if you are able to buy a $100 gift card for $90, and being the savvy shopper that you are, you can take that money and stack it with coupon codes and scenarios to stretch your dollars even further! Here is a tiny sampling of how gift cards are listed for sale:

There are so many gift cards to choose from … some of my favorites include: Nordstroms, Pier One, Columbia, Macy’s, Kohl’s, Home Depot, Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts and more! Take a look around, you just might find something that could score you an even better deal on something that you were going to buy anyway! I also love LOVE that they partner with paypal as a payment option!

So …. if you have any gift cards lying around that you are not going to use, head on over to CouponTrade to sell them, and then you can turn right back around and spend money on some gift cards that you really want and can use! Just go here to check out the awesome selection of gift cards for sale!

*Disclosure: This is a sponsored post as I am a brand ambassador working closely with CouponTrade. As with anything that I share, I genuinely see value in this site and feel that my readers will too. These opinions are my own and are in no way influenced by another.

UPDATE: CLOSED…and the winner is:

Trung Nguyen says I like the sheer tint spf20 (light)/1.3 oz

While I was in NYC in August, I had the opportunity to attend a private event at the Dermalogica Academy. I had tried a few of their products in the past (and loved them!) so I was really excited about the opportunity to see the facility and experience more of their products. Skin care is something that I am always interested in hearing more about, especially the older that I get!

Here’s me at the Dermalogica Academy receiving a MicroZone Treatment (awesome!). I love pretty much any kind of spa treatment, but I especially loved how professional of an environment this was, and how they showed so much attention to detail. I wasn’t, however, too crazy about that big huge magnifying glass that allows them to enlarge your flaws, but the fact that they had great products to help with the problems, made it totally worth while!

Dermalogica has a very innovative tool on their site that will help YOU to select the products that will work best for your specific needs. It’s called Speed Mapping.

What is Speed Mapping? Dermalogica’s unique tool that will put you on the road towards your healthiest skin ever! In just two quick steps, we will identify your top concerns, then provide a personalized product prescription.

To get started on your speed mapping journey, just go here and start answering a few questions. When you are finished, they will provide you with the products best suited to your skincare needs. Here are my results:

So… the kind folks at Dermalogica sent me these products for review, and I am LOVING them. I have been using them for about 2 weeks now. The products come with very clear details which makes it easy to understand how and how often to use each one. They each play an important role in the skin care routine that I am, and I feel like they are covering all of the bases when it comes to what I need in a skin care routine.

As part of my review, they also included the Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel and Daily Microfoliant. The Daily Microfoliant is probably my favorite of all of the products, because I feel like it instantly brightens my skin, and makes it feel so amazing. This product is unique in that it is actually in powder form, until you activate it with water. It feels so good on my skin and upon rinsing, I instantly feel like I have been to a spa all over again.

My thoughts? When I use these products, I really feel like I am using “smart” products. Products that have strong science behind them, and quite honestly, they just feel like they are working. My skin feels fresher, newer and I have actually had quite a few compliments on my skin lately, which of course, makes me grin ear to ear. I am so in love with these products, and will certainly continue to use them!

UPDATE: CLOSED…and the winner is:

Jessica T. says I like Smithfield on facebook.

In honor of International Bacon Day, which was yesterday,  Tuesday, September 4th, I agreed to check out Smithfield’s popular Pouch Pack bacon and Hometown Original bacon. We love bacon around here… it never lasts long. I am not shocked that bacon has it’s own holiday … I mean, really … I saw bacon cupcakes at the cupcake shop last week. (Crazy! AND they were almost sold out of them for the day!) There is so much that can be done with bacon, and I am starting to use it more and more in recipes. I found this yummy looking recipe on the Smithfield’s website (they have so many to choose from!) and I picked out one for this weekend:

Ham and Bacon Corn Chowder

A hearty soup of potatoes and corn with the smokey flavors of bacon and ham.

Serves: 8
Cook Time: 30 Minutes

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound Smithfield Bacon, cooked crisp and chopped (reserve bacon fat)
  • 1 1/2 cups Smithfield ham, diced
  • 4 medium red potatoes, cubed
  • 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 2 dashes hot sauce
  • 2 cups chicken stock
  • 3 cups cream-style corn
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups half and half
  • Chives, chopped for garnish

Steps

In a medium stock pot add reserved bacon fat, potatoes, onion, oregano, bacon and hot sauce. Cook over medium-low heat until onions are translucent. Pour in the chicken stock, corn, and ham. Season with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low and cover pot. Simmer 20 minutes, stirring frequently, until potatoes are tender. In a small saucepan, warm the half-and-half but do not boil. Add the warm half and half to the chowder just before serving. Garnish with chopped chives.

Serving Suggestions

Serve with a crisp green salad and crusty bread.

Print a coupon: In celebration of National Bacon Day (yesterday) Smithfield’s is also offering a coupon right now worth $1.00 off on their facebook page here. (To print coupon, “like” them and follow instructions)

My thoughts? If you haven’t tried Smithfield’s bacon…then you should add it to your “to do” list. It’s one of our favorites as it is crisp and balanced (not just a lot of fat that leaves you searching for the meat). We love it for BLT’s but I am also starting to branch out to fitting bacon into more of our meals and I am very excited to try out this new soup recipe this weekend!

——————————————————————————————————

Now for the Giveaway:

One lucky SheSaved Winner (US only) will win a fun cooler prize package which will include Smithfield’s popular Pouch Pack bacon and Hometown Original bacon, along with a fun bacon koozie, and a coupon booklet filled with $50 worth of FREE Smithfield’s products!

Here’s how to enter:

Entry #2 ~ Subscribe to my daily email newsletter or RSS Feed (and if you already do, thank you … you get this entry as well)
