…ok, so today is day 17 of Mission Fitness! …. and I am so excited that I have stuck with this so far … but I couldn’t do it without my blogging buddies and readers that have pushed me through an encouraged me, especially Jaycie from CouponGeek who has motivated me to stay on track every single day.
I know that many of you are doing the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred with me, and that makes me inspired by my good friend Jaycie from CouponGeek. I have been so motivated by her, and those of you that has joined us … it makes me feel more accountable when I know that I have to keep my word. So … I am REALLY excited to share with you that several of my fellow bloggers have jumped on board and now we are all doing it together … how cool is that??
If you would like to join us … that would be awsome! The first thing that you will want to do, is to get your copy of Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred (it’s on sale right now for only $8.49 through amazon … and if you do the Amazon Mom deal that I told you about, you can get 2 day shipping for free!!) I believe that Walmart also has it for around $9.
Start with 3 lb. dumbbells and work up to 5, or start with 5 if you think you can handle it. Jillian Michaels and the other fitness instructors are using 5 lb. weights in the video, but they are advanced trainers. I started with 8, but my hubby quickly jumped in and took them away from me. I am now using 5lbs. I actually found these Heavyhands by Unipac
…and I love them. (I had to buy the multi pack to build the weight amount that I wanted … ) My hubby encouraged me to spend more on weights so that I would not cause injury.
Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred is designed in three levels to be done over the course of 30 days. Level 1 of the workout should be done for 10 days, Level 2 for 10, and Level 3 for 10. When you finally can complete Level 3 of this fitness program, stay there, or mix it up every once in a while. The whole point is that you should do level 1 all the way through until you can totally keep up … this will help you progress to level 2, and she has it all planned out so that you are working the areas that you will need to have strength in on the next level. Jillian knows what she is talking about … I highly recommend following her advice and doing this her way. As she says: If you want to work out for only 20 minutes a day, and see big results… you are gonna have to push it for every second of that 20 minutes.
Feel free to stay on Level 1 until you can master it, then move to Level 2. You do not have to move up every 10 days.
