This week, I’m all about getting ready for organization in 2016! I already shared my favorite Daily Planners and 2016 Calendars and also my post about my favorite Elementary School Year Planners for the kids. I also shared my favorite tips for organizing Christmas ornaments, decor and tree storage.
Today, I’m sharing with my #1 organizing tip as we head into 2016. I love books, but very few have actually changed my life. THIS book has and will continue to. I LOVE this book.
It sounds SO simple, but once you start reading the actual hows and whys… it all makes sense. This book changes the way that you look at things, and it makes letting go of STUFF so much easier. I can honestly say that this book has brought me joy.
This hardcover book, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing sells for under $11 and ships free with Amazon Prime. UNDER $11!!
Author Marie Kondo has such a gift (obviously) for sharing her techniques and explaining to the reader “why” decluttering is healthy and how you can improve your life and stress levels by doing so.
The first chapter alone will have you seeing the cluttered areas of your home so much differently and within minutes of finishing the first chapter in this book, I was literally beginning my journey of cleaning out clutter. It’s such a great feeling to organize and really declutter, and I can’t stress to you how awesome this book will make you feel, but it works. It will make you feel amazing!
(thus the great reviews).
About: Despite constant efforts to declutter your home, do papers still accumulate like snowdrifts and clothes pile up like a tangled mess of noodles?
Japanese cleaning consultant Marie Kondo takes tidying to a whole new level, promising that if you properly simplify and organize your home once, you’ll never have to do it again. Most methods advocate a room-by-room or little-by-little approach, which doom you to pick away at your piles of stuff forever. The KonMari Method, with its revolutionary category-by-category system, leads to lasting results. In fact, none of Kondo’s clients have lapsed (and she still has a three-month waiting list).
With detailed guidance for determining which items in your house “spark joy” (and which don’t), this international bestseller featuring Tokyo’s newest lifestyle phenomenon will help you clear your clutter and enjoy the unique magic of a tidy home—and the calm, motivated mindset it can inspire.
Do yourself a favor and gift this to yourself … you won’t be sorry!
Here are some other great organizing tools for the upcoming year! Happy New Year everyone!
“Remember, Amazon prices can change at anytime, and if you can find an item when it is reduced in price, it’s a great way to score awesome deals and stock up without even having to leave the house! Check the price before you checkout to make sure that it hasn’t changed.
